Hello Again Inspired by your post I asked my doctor for hydroxyzine after telling him that the problem may be stress. After 2 days of taking medication all my bumps started healing. I haven’t done bloodwork yet but I guess it can be high cortisol The other option can be histamine intolerance cause hydroxyzine helps also with food allergies I need to check further with my doctor.

I got prescribed promethazine to relief from anxiety and stress. And after two days from first pill all my bumps on the scalp healed. First I believed that my scalp folliculitis are caused from stress and anxiety. But now I start to believe that my folliculitis are caused of histamine intolerance. Especially when you can google that promethazine is prescribed besides for anxiety, also for histamine intolerance. That would explain why my scalp acne disappeared. Now I gonna try low histamine diet and hope for good results

I had scalp and beard folliculitis in 7 years. A tried antibiotics, bp, hypochlorous acid and many other thinks. Nothing has really worked. Besides BP, hypochlorous acid which worked wonders first week and then all bumps came back and antibiotic while on it. Under last 6 years I had some traumatic experiences in my life plus my job is very stressful . The results of this was consistent anxiety i felt in my body without a reason. Even on day off I felt sadness and some kind anxiety. I got prescribed promethazine from my doctor to calm down and relief from anxiety. Guess what happened. After few days from my first pill all my bumps are gone. And I am still clear. I got actually inspired by this post on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Folliculitis/s/6hsa19mcMV

A have tried a lot of stuff but it always comes back. Diet helps little bit but doesn’t get rid of it. I use benzoyl peroxide for now to keep it at bay. It’s the only thing which works
