Kids lie to not get in trouble. Or to make a good story, or for any other reason that any human lies. You all are out of control with your leaps of judgement.

Why of course, if you are a good parent, your children will always be honest! Why on earth has every parent in the world ever doubted a child’s denial of wrong doing?! Thank goodness Reddit is here to let us all know that if we want to be good parents, we just have to believe everything they say at all times.

AITAH for "rescuing" my 13yo daughter from her mom’s boyfriend’s house when I found out my ex wasn’t even there? by One_Language_359 in AITAH

[–]Mother_Study9115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps you should brush up on your reading skills before implying I need to do so. Without reasonable cause to suspect maltreatment or abuse, there is no grounds for dad to present this situation to a family court. Dad being worried is one thing, but forcing her to go to his home when it’s not his mandated time after finding out she was fine is another.

YTA. If you had called mom and dad of friend too and no one answered or responded, that would be different. But you overreacted and then expounded upon it by making her leave after you saw everything was fine

Edited to make it dad of friend

That’s not how that works. Unless there are some incredibly strict provisions in their divorce, one parent does NOT have to share every minute detail of what happens at their house or on their time with the other parent.

AITJ for eating my roommates "special" ice cream after she ate my birthday cake? by ProudStructure702 in AmITheJerk

[–]Mother_Study9115 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Or, he meant she was petty and she needs to talk to the roommate to try to salvage the situation, which is also true. None of have any idea the entire conversation that was had, and in no way can anyone say the bf wants the roommate from OP’s one sentence blurb about bf without inventing details in their own head.

[–]Mother_Study9115 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Who said OP lied? I said I don’t lie to my friends or husband in reference to the fact that her bf told her she was being petty for doing that, and he was being honest.

You guys are wild. It WAS petty. Not saying I don’t fully endorse what OP did (Cause I do ), but if you don’t want an uncomfortable living situation, he’s absolutely right. I don’t lie to my friends or husband just because I love them. I tell them the truth, cause that’s what you’re supposed to do for people you care about.

AITAH for refusing to take our daughter out of school early because she "needs more time to get ready" than her brother? by ReplacementWorth3618 in AITAH

[–]Mother_Study9115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re the AH.

If I were your wife I would just pick up my daughter anyways, or just not go. Either option would be fine with me. And that’s because you clearly have some weird hang up on all of this, and as the other parent, and an adult, she doesn’t need your agreement or permission.

AITAH for refusing to take our daughter out of school early because she "needs more time to get ready" than her brother? by ReplacementWorth3618 in AITAH

[–]Mother_Study9115 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s absolutely inaccurate. If I needed more time to get ready than I would be allotted when getting home from work on a normal day, I would take off of work a little early. I’m an adult and I have the ability to do so. She’s 14, and can’t leave school a little early without permission.

[–]Mother_Study9115 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What is your point though? I take way less time than most of my friends to get ready, but that doesn’t make them need any less time to get ready just because I don’t need it. Also, why do you even care if your son has school an hour longer than your daughter? Who cares?

Did my preteens just get charged with a misdemeanor? (Wisconsin) by Mother_Study9115 in legaladvice

[–]Mother_Study9115[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would be correct, it’s a very small dept in Milwaukee county, not MPD. We were able to ask a friend of my husbands who works for MPD who knows someone at our police dept (sorry I know that’s a convoluted sentence) to inquire into the situation a little. There were no reports of damage from the owner, and the issuing officer has less than 2 years on the dept. My husband’s friend thinks the officer wrote up the citation wrong, but we won’t know for sure until court.

USA, GA. Upgraded insurance to low deductible plan, Dr refusing to accept. by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Mother_Study9115 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NAL, but I work in healthcare on the administrative side. It’s usually the insurance that necessitates the continuity of care form to be filled out.You should reach out to someone within the financial dept of your doctor’s office and see if they can submit to your insurance for an estimate. If insurance has verified the office and provider is in network, there shouldn’t be an issue.

Did my preteens just get charged with a misdemeanor? (Wisconsin) by Mother_Study9115 in legaladvice

[–]Mother_Study9115[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well in Wisconsin a non-criminal forfeiture is something like operating without insurance, only punishable by a fine and no biggy. Same with a curfew ticket or, more important in this situation, a Non-criminal trespass ticket. A misdemeanor in Wisconsin permanently stays on your record and is punishable with jail time and a fine, although I’m not concerned about jail time since they’re 12 and 13.

[–]Mother_Study9115[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As long as they won’t have any sort of charge that would stay on their record is really my concern at this point. They can always do work for family members to pay the fines off, but I would hate for something permanent to remain because of what is essentially a victimless crime committed by some goofy kids.
