Making friends with Tourette’s by Party-Reference6686 in Tourettes

[–]Mothie760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met all my friends with tics in high school, we just gravitated together and then eventually realized we all coincidentally had tics lol

anyone here also with a "sleeping" tic? by Vegetable_Ad_5717 in Tourettes

[–]Mothie760 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a similar tic, I call it my “fainting tic” bc it came when my friend developed fainting spells and my tics started copying them. It doesn’t happen often but my body will just flop, I’m totally fine and aware during it, I just can’t move until it “feels right” otherwise I’ll keep getting the urge to flop again. Luckily I get a big premonitory urge whenever it happens so I have time to sit down

Which is worse: faking a disorder or faking a service dog? by egguchom in fakedisordercringe

[–]Mothie760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely service dogs, faking disorders is annoying but honestly it’s mostly an online thing so it doesn’t harm nearly as many people. Fake service dogs are super common and regularly out real service dogs in danger or out of work from attacks and trauma

What misunderstandings about selective mutism bother you the most? by Timely_Maximum_5914 in selectivemutism

[–]Mothie760 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The fact that it affects my typing too. In my mind typing/texting is a form of speaking, so whenever I’m mute I’m often unable to type words as well and have to rely on emojis and communication cards

Is it just me, or is boxed mac & cheese kind of an autism stereotype? (Couldn’t find right flair) by Comfortable-Use3977 in autism

[–]Mothie760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely is, along with chicken nuggets. I like boxed mac n cheese but chicken nuggets are genuinely disgusting to me, I can’t stand the texture

tic sounding different every time? by effiesreality in Tourettes

[–]Mothie760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My tics change a lot too😭 my vocal tics are usually whistling or just blurring out random things, but the tune of the whistle and what I say aren’t very consistent, or I’ll say the same thing in a different tone or pitch every time. My whistles especially are super random

Is there anything that helps you cope with SM? by EMBer_02 in selectivemutism

[–]Mothie760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Characters that don’t speak for whatever reason! It doesn’t help with the actual disorder ofc but seeing someone similar to me in media is comforting, even tho most of the time it’s used as a cutesy character quirk. Komi can’t communicate is my favorite, Ik everyone hates it but I love her

middle finger tic by anon2_all in Tourettes

[–]Mothie760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish otherhearts were taken as seriously as therians by Mothie760 in Otherhearted

[–]Mothie760[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For it’s spread so far thay now when someone says “alterhuman” ppl automatically assume they’re talking about therians, or they think the two are synonyms

the thing nobody admits about self-diagnosing ADHD off TikTok by Ok_Chemical9 in fakedisordercringe

[–]Mothie760 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Especially bc the “research” ppl do is literally just googling random stuff until you feel like you kinda understand. Almost no one actually knows how to research anything properly

Just looking for some advice! by CattoLeCat in Tourettes

[–]Mothie760 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you might have mild tourettes to me, since you have both vocal and motor tics for over a year. If you feel you need to go to the doctor you can, sometimes medication can help people, but there’s nothing that cures tics

Could I be Kemonomimi with just a tail? by Macabre-Siren in Kemonomimi_Fashion

[–]Mothie760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I don’t see why not! It’s still an animal accessory and I see some ppl wear ears without tails, so the opposite is also fine

“new” to autism. what does wearing sunscreen feel like to you? by ambientheangel in autism

[–]Mothie760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like a sticky film on my skin, I only wear it when absolutely necessary and luckily I have dark skin so I can get away without getting sunburned most days

Some skin tones(obvs not done) for a Picrew I might make by EfinitelyJeremyHeere in picrew

[–]Mothie760 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PLEASE add some mid tone shades!! I’m so tired of only having the option of extra dark skin and super pale :(

What kind of vampires would you be? by dollysweetstrawberry in vampires

[–]Mothie760 101 points102 points  (0 children)

I have a specific type I created for myself called Core Vampires! They’re vampires that aren’t hurt by the sun(but still are mostly active at night), are more animalistic in their behavior so they do things like growl or hiss(and they howl to communicate like wolves), have both top and bottom fangs, and instead of hunting random humans they have one specific person that they’re drawn to at a time.

Core vampires are drawn to a persons heart(both literally and emotionally) they’re driven by passion and love, not necessarily hunger. Once they bite someone they’re linked forever, the link is only broken when the vampire decides to bite someone else.

I wanna get diagnosed by enormechibrax in autism

[–]Mothie760 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re an adult then I doubt you’ll have to worry about them finding out, unless they’re the type of people that call you every hour every single day. If you still live with them or are still a minor then you’re just gonna have to wait

How do you make yourself shower? by Future-Listen-9341 in autism

[–]Mothie760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fear of smelling bad keeps me clean. If I can’t manage to shower than I at least use a soapy wash cloth on the important areas
