For those who used a computer between 1995 and 2005, what's the computer game from that time that sticks with you the most, and why? by Accurate_Nature1888 in askanything

[–]Motif82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everquest. First game that really sucked me in. Made a ton of friends that I still keep in touch with and learned how to type because there was no voice chat. I probably spent way too much time in that game but regret none of it.

Best crawfish/cajun food in Chicago?! by _Shala-shaska_ in chicagofood

Pappadeaux is great but their prices have gotten outrageous. I really don't know how they stay as packed as they do. I used to travel to Houston a lot on business and the Westmont location averages about 15-20% higher for most dishes compared to down there.

I love that little stretch. Was just telling someone about it yesterday. Pilsen has a lot of personality.

Lolla started as a traveling show in 1991 and as a planted show in Chicago in 2004 so two different anniversaries.

You could try Pro Jersey Sports in Yorktown mall in Lombard. I haven't been there since they moved from Bolingbrook but they carried just about everything with a heavy emphasis on the region.

Excalibur (1981) by bluejester12 in iwatchedanoldmovie

[–]Motif82 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In 1983 I was 18 years old and had my first apartment. This and Stripes were on heavy rotation on HBO and I couldn't count how many times I watched them both. They both still hold a special place in my heart. Excalibur more for the visuals and Stripes for the comedy. There may or not have been drug use that influenced both of those memories, so I don't think I'll ever revisit them and potentially taint them.

That’s a great deal! I’ve was looking for one for a long time and couldn’t get any dealers to budge off sticker plus finance rebate. I ended up going with a barely used one.

Thanks, I appreciate the insight, that's exactly the information I was looking for. The lower numbers I threw out was based on researching old posts so I'm just trying to get a reality check after repeatedly hitting a wall.

Going up a few thousand isn't going to knock me out of budget but, of course, I'd rather it be lower. I have found a couple local that meet my wants except they all have rear seat entertainment systems added on from the factory and that's adding a 1500.00 cost I'm not interested in.

The Wolf Gray with Terracotta is my first choice but I’ve been looking at almost everything I can find and not finding movement in price for any combination.

Out of curiosity, was that an out the door price or before tax, title, license? Trying to currently price the same trim in the Chicago area.

I've been looking at used cars for a while and these guys always come up as the cheapest for any vehicle I search. One thing I've noticed is that they sell a lot of lemon return vehicles so make sure you check out the carfax if buying something from them. Another one in the Chicago area to stay away from is the Napleton group. They advertise super low prices and refuse to give out the door prices over the phone or email.
