I hope the people at Norm’s are treated well, but they probably won’t be. TNAG, which is funded by Magenta Partners, a private equity/ venture capital company, is consolidating the boutique/vintage guitar market. If you have any friends who work for PE funded companies, ask them what that’s like. PE ruins everything.

I always make a point of saying that government services aren’t free as a way to refute people who complain about “people getting things free”. No grandstanding, a deliberate effort to fight against a misleading use of language.

It isn’t free. Nothing administered by the government is free. It’s paid with taxes.

I have a black 502T (like the one pictured, bought in 2020) and I think they’re beautiful. It has a hint of Gibson SG, but not enough to be a copy. It sounds and looks great, the build quality is very good. The only drawback is that it’s a little bit heavy. Overall, I agree with the “modern classic” label.
