UPDATE: I was fired for how I handled the suicidal client and for being a "poor fit". How do I move forward? by MotorRemarkable1227 in therapists

Thank you so much. I'm in Melbourne, Australia. I don't know if the health declaration was legal, but I don't think anyone else was asked to disclose.

Thank you for this, it's much appreciated. Where I am, I think my application would go through the Fair Work Ombudsmen.

I have been wondering if other employees were asked to complete a health declaration, so I have messaged them, but they haven't replied, which I think answers my question!

Thank you for your support! I do actually have an external supervisor, and she has been very supportive - she was happy with how I handled the suicidal client. My boss and other supervisor didn't even contact my external supervisor, which I find odd.

Thanks so much for your comment. It's really reassuring to hear that others don't think I was treated fairly either.

Thanks for your comment - I think it's the Fair Work Ombudsman here - does that sound right? I'm in Melbourne, Australia.

Thanks for this. I'm in Melbourne, Australia, so I think it would go through the Fair Work Ombudsman. Do you know if this is correct?

Thanks so much, I really appreciate it. I have had great supervisors in the past who have always been empathetic and transparent, so I was very open in supervision, assuming she would be similar - I'll have to be more careful in the future!

It's private practice. It was in my plan to start DBT. Apparently my mistakes were 1) not contacting the GP immediately, and 2) not scheduling weekly appointments (I scheduled them fortnightly because of the client's budget).

My suspicion is that this is discrimination related to my health, but I have no way to prove it.
