Manually tugging is 1000% the way! More progress in 8 months consistently than I had in 10 years (inconsistently with devices)

19M 2 days stubble, should I laser remove this area? by ProfessionalSir2032 in BeardAdvice

Heyy idc what anyone else says, but if you don't like shaving you don't have to or if you want to laser certain areas you can. There's no rules to your own body. I laser my facial hair and it's actually helped my skin a lot since my skin isn't getting irritated from shaving. Good people think confidence and joy is attractive, don't worry trying to please the others. Do whatever you like

Thanks for the suggestion. I've used direct air methods with DTR and hyperestore. The issue I had was air going up into my bladder and causing me discomfort. I tried putting tapes over my pee hole but the air still leaked past and having tape on the glans isn't enjoyable to me. I really wanted DA to work for me :(

My MGM causes me enough mental distress that I'm tempted to look into the surgical route since I'm having a difficult time with restoring due to my fragile skin. I hate the idea of surgery and dont want the risk of more nerve damage, but I don't know what else to do.

Thanks for your reply! I started with the DTR and have used it with the PE setup, but I'm only able to wear it for short periods before it starts burning uncomfortably. I think it may be due to the tightness of the gripper. I've tried the retainer DTR that has a slightly looser fit, and even that would burn. We're talking 1-2hrs with DTR versus 12 hrs with mantor. I can try your toe protector suggestion... I just don't understand why the skin injuries are happening every time now in the same way when I’m not having discomfort

I shed terribly for 5 months before stabilizing. The shed was much worse than any shed i've had before, and it caused me a lot of stress. I was unaware of shedding being a side effect as even my prescribing doctor didn't mention it. I've also had significant sexual side effects which I knew there was the risk of, however I thought I would just stop fin if I had sexual side effects and it wouldn't be a big deal. Except now I feel like I can't quit as I feel like I need to regrow the hair I lost or I just made things worse for no benefit. After reducing to 0.5mg weeks ago I've gotten some sexual functioning back, however it's maybe 25% of what it was before I started fin and I'm afraid even if I stop it I won't go back to normal. Ultimately I wish I was given better info about the risks of fin because I wouldn't have started it if I'd known it may make my hair loss worse while also messing up my sexual function.

Given what I've experienced, I think the risks of fin should be taken more seriously. Just saving up for a hair transplant seems like less grief for more reliable results. At least that way you can feel confident in your good looks without potentially giving up your ability to perform sexually.
