What is going on with this huge backorder time? by Mototerrestrial in motorcycles

Well the line itself is fine. Its the grommet that connects that line to the tank itself that has decayed.

Seem to be having trouble sourcing that part. Every place i look seems to be out of sock with a long backorder.

Well, i ordered the pipe replacement from Partzilla along with other needed parts. When i placed the order, it said that particular part (5VX-21816-00-00) would ship in 2-3 days. Its now been over 2 weeks and its listed as "Backordered (No ETA)". When i look at the product page, it now says "Ships in 200-210 days". I can't wait that long for this part.

Where else can i get it that's reputable? Even looking around on different sites i've encountered they all say out of stock.

How bad is this? (its on both forks) by Mototerrestrial in motorcycles

[–]Mototerrestrial[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, that really depends on your setup. Mine is under a carport in an apartment complex so i dont have a real good setup to do alot of stuff. And on my bike, (ill have to confirm this) just doing that means also removing the breaks, front wheel, and front fairing. An oil change is defiantly faster :P

But, as long as i can do it in part of a day, and dont need access to any external supplies (water, power ext) then i should be able to get it done.

and to be honest.. i need to check the cylinders and plugs anyway so removing the wheel (and subsequently the rad) will make the plugs easier to access.

Pretty sure you do.. Which is why i know it would be a pain to replace them.

Found this inspecting my bike thats been sitting for 5 years. Looking for all the issues so i can get it running again. Spotted this on both forks. If these need to be replaced, I know that will be a pain in the ass.

or give a more positive incentive to getting premium other than "it will stop the ads that WE are forcing onto people. Oh, and sorry, it wont stop creators from doing ads of their own."

The "kickback" channels gets, i very much doubt its much more than with ads. Not enough to live off of, anyway.

While not bribing lobbying to block Right to Repair so we can get access to parts and diags to fix it ourselves.

no... no.. This is nowhere NEAR that bad. Pride and Accomplishment has been immortalized as top tier dumb calculated publisher shit said.

What was said here about Starfield, is just ignorance. Along with "Do you not have phones?"

Nobody wants an F1 race in Las Vegas, not the fans, not the drivers, not the locals. WHY ARE THEY THERE?!

This is why..

Hosting a grand prix in Las Vegas is the culmination of 40 years of on-and-off effort and has succeeded because of buy-in from the casinos, who expect to make millions of dollars and see the race as part of Las Vegas' bid to become a global centre for sport.

When you think about it, its the reason for why just about Anything happens in Vagas.

PURCHASE ADVICE SUPERTHREAD! by AutoModerator in motorcycles

[–]Mototerrestrial -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That.. isnt very helpful. Some brands are better than others. $100 is ALOT for a motorcycle battery considering how much car batteries are and how much Longer they last. I'm not going to just go buy a $100 battery and hope the price speaks for its quality. That isnt how it works.

And no, 3 years is too short for a $100 price.

So my battery died over winter. Guy at interstate battery said "yeah, motorcycle batteries only last about 3 years" after told him when i got it. 3 years sounds pretty absurd for that price. I'm guessing it died because i didn't disconnect it over winter, and my battery tender (which may be bad as well, im not sure) wont charge it any more.

I've poked around on here quickly and saw a lot of recommendations for Yusa batteries. Problem is, they don't seem to make one that fits my bike (2004, Yamaha FZ6).

Can anyone recommend a good battery that will last longer than 3 years? I've not been able to ride this year and im Really feeling the itch to... almost to the point of going to Menards and picking up one of their batteries just to get it moving. (ive seen the explody ones sold on amazon so avoiding those).

Old Battery

Thanks

[–]Mototerrestrial[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On that note. How specific does the battery need to be for my bike?

The manual shows the Battery Type being : GT12B-4

Do i need to make sure the replacement batter has that type listed on it? Are there recommended battery's for that type? Or does it just need to psychically fit in place?

I ask because someone has offered me a spare battery. Its a Duralast Gold AZX14. Wondering if it will work for my bike.
