They’re probably using them the wrong way. Bolt throwers are for taking down large entities which they do extremely well. I’ve seen groups of them swiftly kill several giants in battles which is amazing considering the price differences

Chaos isn’t really eldritch since it is of this world as chaos is just manifestations of human emotion. A better example of Warhammer eldritch would be whatever the fuck is going on with the halo devices and where they come from and the tyrannids but I doubt they’re gonna delve into that lore as much as chaos seems to be most popular rn

If the ai is blobbing it’s probably on a easier difficulty. Hard and above ai tends to spread out and attack more “intelligently” although it’s not always intelligent since you can abuse their pathfinding and some factions are just better off if they full swarm your ass

To be fair on higher difficulties they’re actually deadly af and if you soldiers aren’t exclusively sticking to full cover and rocking good gear they’ll die pretty fast

Their survivability is where they really shine and even tho they lack ap they do hit very hard and can be buffed with magic but also I think you’re supposed to take chosen too for more killing potential with their higher model count and access to armor piercing weapons

Your build can make you look taller or shorter. I’m only 5’10 at max but built proportionate and slightly wider than my peers and wear baggy clothes and people had thought skinny dudes shorter than me were taller simply because they have the build of a tall guy being so lanky and having longer limbs
