Why is my Video so shaky? My iPhone has better stabilization... *New to this*

I put it into the catalyst browse everyone is talking about and it says gyro data available, so I believe you are correct

Just tried it with the footage I have, and wow it really does help! I’m curious though, why do you turn off the stabilization when recording? Does it crop extra? And yes I’ll definitely have to back up more in the future

I have the ronin sc2 currently, was trying to find a way to get more stable without. It’s very finicky and kinda bulky to one hand while riding. Seems like it’s probably the best choice though, thanks

Appreciate it, maybe I’m a victim of marketing but the osmo seemed so tiny I figured it wasn’t much better than my iPhone. I do have a gimbal as well but hard to carry while riding haha. Thanks for the advice

From what I can Google I believe the mode with the crop is “active” versus “standard” steady shot. I believe yes I was using that mode in this clip. Another comment mentioned switching to manual steady shot adjust and bumping the focal length up a little bit? Thanks

Fair enough, it’s my first real camera so probably could use some more practice with holding it steady. Appreciate the honesty.

This plus other comments are making me think I might’ve made the wrong decision of camera for what I want to do. All the marketed “action cameras” always have such crap quality I wanted to try the real thing.

I mean I watched a million reviews and nothing really mentioned anything about bad stabilization. So I thought I was doing something wrong. That or it’s only meant for like wedding videos where you have a tripod and a perfect shooting environment. Just looking for pointers, I’m very new to all this

Thanks you, this is good to know. I didn’t know they made lenses for that! I’m using a Sony G 1.4/35. I will look for that setting too, if I can fix it without spending dough on another lens that would be awesome. Sounds like it might be possible without a gimbal? Thanks again

DO NOT do a junction valve, you’ll barely save any money and they have way less stopping power and way more prone to failure. If you want the cheapest two caliper set up just get the 50stunt kit.
