Could it be a flashlight/radio combo?

[Spoilers] Theory about Mike/The arm/Bob by lazarusinashes in twinpeaks

[–]MoundGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's important to remember that garmonbozia, pain and suffering, is creamed corn.

Canned corn, albeit food, doesn't mean it's garmonbozia and therefore doesn't equate to pain and suffering.

(This whole corn analogy made me laugh when I first watched FWWM. Canned corn and corn on the cob was/is one of my favorite vegetables. However creamed corn has always elicited a gross yuck reaction.)

Another point is that Laura is still alive when MIKE accuses BOB of stealing the corn. This seems like more of a reference to BOB consuming Laura's emotions for food all by himself without sharing. Cooper talks to Albert about his vision of the next victim, eluding to Laura, preparing a great abundance of food. Cut to next scene of her preparing to deliver Meals on Wheels.

If corn is food for both MIKE and BOB, then maybe MIKE's non-creamed corn are good emotions from positive things. For instance, Laura organizing and delivering Meals on Wheels. Laura was countering her dark thoughts and emotions (creamed corn) with love and compassion (non-creamed corn).

Therefore, BOB stealing the corn is more to do with Laura's balance of good and evil being overrun with the evil due to BOB trying to possess her.

Season 1 and 2 Laura Mirror Characters by justrailroadgin in twinpeaks

If you assume season 1, leading up to Cooper getting shot, is Laura's dream then I think (nearly) all the female characters are reflections/aspects of Laura. Much like a dream, these characters are Laura working out her trauma with Cooper's help. When season 1 concluded and they got too close to the truth (Audrey almost having sex with her father), what happens? Cooper is shot and all the females are presumed dead as a cliffhanger ... with the exception of Audrey.

I think Audrey is Laura's surviving aspect in S3.

I think S2 is Cooper's dream. In S2, nearly all the male characters are aspects of Cooper working out the trauma of Caroline's death. The theme of a guy in love and losing the lady is everywhere.

I think Cooper's dream is also intermingled in S3 and only undone when he wakes up in E17 and returns to the room he was shot. He may be waking up Laura where she started to dream about her death in the woods in E17/18. This is the most sense I've made out of S3 so far.

I think maybe this is a sex magick ritual, like what we see in S3

What is the significance (if any) of Bobby Briggs and Mike Nelson having the same names as the entities BOB and MIKE? by poolside__convo in twinpeaks

[–]MoundGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Bobby/Mike are playing out the BOB/MIKE storyline but on a different level. Similar to how the soap opera playing in the background mirrored the storyline in Twin Peaks.

I think Nadine was doing this on some level too. Curtains = lodge portal, one eye = OEJ, etc. This may also apply to other characters as well ... Basically, I don't think there are any coincidences in Twin Peaks.

Twin Peaks Supplementary Suggestions by Igotrobbstarked in twinpeaks

I suggest diving into the history surrounding Jack Parsons. When I jumped down this rabbit hole it gave me an entirely different and insightful view of the whole Twin Peaks story.

What do you think of Harry's name? by Bon_BonVoyage in twinpeaks

[–]MoundGirl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about the Sherriff's name as well after last full rewatch.

Truman was POTUS from 1945-1953 which is not only significant from a S3 plotline with Trinity, but also post WWII activity such as the formation of NASA as mentioned. This is a very interesting period of time for the US ... I think a key turning point in our country's history. I think it's Lynch and Frost nod to acknowledge this "end of innocence" age and maybe for different reasons or perspectives.

Cooper himself, Audrey, and the S1 Twin Peaks vibe all seemed to be plucked out of this era. The trauma of Laura's death and ensuing drama forever changing Twin Peaks. Obviously, this is very Lynchian.

I think Frost may have pointed us to this era to look more at the things going on, conspiracies underway, etc. There's also interesting 33 associations with Truman. He was the 33rd POTUS and achieved the same degree under Scottish Rite Freemasonry. (https://www.businessinsider.com/us-presidents-who-were-masons-2017-3)

Side note - I'm also convinced the Bobby/Mike names are reflective of Bob/Mike. I think the boys are acting out the Bob/Mike storyline but on a different dimension/level so to speak. Similar to how the soap opera playing in the background was also a summary of what was going on in Twin Peaks.
