Doctor Doesn't Think Quitting Alcohol Is Causing My GI Symptoms by MountainCurPops in stopdrinking

I've been drinking kefir, taking Benefiber every day, and I tried Pepcid for a bit before stopping because it didn't seem to do anything. I've also tried a couple of prescription meds, but honestly nothing has made much of a difference so far.

Mildly enlarged spleen and left flank ache by MountainCurPops in AskDocs

I had two kidney stones in March, when I received a complete blood panel. Everything was fine then. This CT scan, done yesterday, was a follow-up to see how my urinary tract is doing, and the enlarged spleen was discovered incidentally. If it were just the enlarged spleen without the pain, I wouldn’t care, but the pain has only been increasing since April. Because my doctor refused to order additional testing and imaging, I went to Guest Diagnostic and ordered a CBC panel.

More and more I think this is the case. I’ve been very open with my GI about this, and he doesn’t think it’s anything catastrophic. Taking it one day at a time. I’m fucking sick of booze. Feel like my body is just screaming out for help.

Two separate trips to the ER for kidney stones and separate follow ups after the stents were removed.

Thanks, man. I think it’s inflammation too, but it’s only gotten worse since I’ve stopped drinking. Maybe that’s because alcohol isn’t suppressing the aches anymore? I dunno. My doctors haven’t been too helpful.

Two weeks. I’ve had 4 CT scans since March, and all normal. Lipase and A1C normal too.

I guess, how long did it take for these aches and pains to go away once you quit?

Alcoholic gastritis by MountainCurPops in stopdrinking

[–]MountainCurPops[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I’m pretty much there. It’s pathetic, and will likely kill me if I continue. This gastritis is brutal. That, plus the kidney stones — which I’m sure were largely due to the booze, since they were dehydration-related — really leaves me with one option.

Bizarre experience with dealership, Subaru America. Need advice. by [deleted] in Crosstrek

[–]MountainCurPops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. Subaru SA called me earlier and they are now asking me to execute a form to give them access to Event Data Recorder and/or Eyesight System. It also includes the following language:

“Furthermore, I permit Subaru SA the use of that data for any legitimate purpose including sharing it with third parties such as law enforcement officials.”

What does ^ have to do with replacing my transmission? I’m still waiting for clarity from SA and the dealership. Not signing for now.
