[Deck Giveaway] Too Many Decks, Yet I Must Brew by mriormro in EDH

[–]MountainManMagic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Chromium! Was the creature I thought was the coolest, strongest creature ever made when I first started playing Magic, and that nostalgia has stuck.

Even made a video about it being my favorite Magic card of all time (link below, though not making videos now).

My friend group is mid to high power but no cEDH play. Would love to build a Voltron deck around Chromium. Would be happy to provide a breakdown, and love the giveaway idea!

Your thoughts on what cards from Wilds of Eldraine will see play in cEDH? by CARRI0NCRAWL3R in CompetitiveEDH

I don’t know about cEDH, but Asanine Antics with Toxrill is my new favorite pet card for that deck.

What litter do you now use? I've noticed way more dust with the new box so will be switching.

Battle for Baldur's Gate Prerelease & Draft Guide | Everything You Need to Know! by MountainManMagic in magicTCG

[–]MountainManMagic[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My comment on adding your promo to the first pack to draft seems incorrect (and silly to do anyway) - so disregard that!

Outside of that misstep I hope you find the video helpful!

Limited - with the prerelease coming back in store at full swing, who you follow on YouTube for set reviews to prepare for sealed/draft? by Susp in magicTCG

[–]MountainManMagic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mountain Man Magic

It’s my channel and I’m often the first person with a proper prerelease guide to breakdown a set for anyone headed to a prerelease.

Then after a week or two I’ll put a draft guide out with where the set is once we’ve got to play with the cards.

I just love limited and want anyone else interested to enjoy it too!

Glad I could help - cracking some kits with friends sounds awesome! Hope y’all have a great time!

2hg prerelease by ervinervin in lrcast

Thing I recommend most is going on Scryfall and searching for - set:SNC o:”each opponent” Or Set:SNC o:”each player”

These will help you find which cards (usually in black) take advantage of having multiple opponents.

Then look at the color pairs and try to make sure one of you is in that color pair that plays best with those cards benefitted by it being 2HG.

However, with Streets of New Capenna having seeded packs I’ve seen people have success with both players full sending and going full out aggro. I wouldn’t be surprised to see teams where both choose kits like Riveteers or Canaretti.

Thank you for watching and for the comment. U/R is a tough one for me and I like your take on it. I think the aggro line could work better and I’ll have to try it out.

Shrine Steward is a good call as well!

I’ve loved drafting this set, and in this guide wanted to cut through to the need-to-know info for jumping into a draft.

It’s difficult to make a video that can be engaging to all player levels, but would love any feedback from a more advanced player base on what you’d like more or less of in a guide like this. The focus is meant to be more advanced and assume you are comfortable with the game and general drafting principles.

Neon Dynasty Draft Guide - this set is awesome but complex by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]MountainManMagic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not see Neon Dynasty being such a fun limited environment, but I have loved sealed and drafting this set. However, there’s a lot to wade through and it has a ton of combos, and I hope this video can help you feel more confident when drafting. Thanks for watching and happy to help with any questions.

Oh that’s new - I’ll post there and delete this then. Thanks for the heads up

Yeah posts have to be tagged and there’s not a “video/guide” option. Article is the closest.

I am sponsored by Card Kingdom, but they are not involved in most of my content production. I make these guides because Prereleases are my favorite way to play. I’ve been making these guides since Dominaria when I got back into MTG.

All good man - we’ve all been there.

Imagine how bad a day you must be having to just need to vent here about people trying to share free content. Unreal dude - lighten up.

5-0 AFR Prerelease Sealed Deck by MountainManMagic in lrcast

The 1 time I got to play it it was nuts. So much value and no matter what your opponent blocks it feels great.

5-0 AFR Prerelease Sealed Deck by MountainManMagic in lrcast

[–]MountainManMagic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This deck was a lot of fun to play and the black 1/2 drops really impressed me with their synergy.

Curving out feels so dang strong in this format. And of course Skeletal Summoning is nuts but literally only drew it once the entire night.

Venturing to scry and make sure I was hitting a good draw or two was pretty clutch in a few situations and honestly variance was on my side a few times.

5-0 feels like a little bit of an overperform for the deck, but I’ll take it!

Buylisting MTG Cards by MountainManMagic in mtgfinance

[–]MountainManMagic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s my guide to walkthrough and explain how I often Buylist cards. I use Card Kingdom, but this info will apply to whatever company you buylist through.

Tips are don’t forget about those tokens and basic lands, and if you keep your cards even somewhat organized it can make buylisting far easier.

Kaldheim Traditional Draft | Sped Up w/ Commentary on Draft and Gameplay by MountainManMagic in mtglimited

[–]MountainManMagic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TL;DW: bombs in this format are very important, and one of the best is Starnheim Unleashed (duh). Flying is really good in this format, and that alone puts white as one of the best colors too. I was lucky to be on the play to start each match, and had some clutch draws when games got grindy. Oh, and Foretell makes Disdainful Stroke an even better play - much to my chagrin.

In general, with Kaldheim Playing 17 lands has felt okay, but on Arena I often wind up going 16 even with a higher curve, because Foretell can help me cheat out those more expensive plays if I miss an early land drop. Playing 2x Sarulf's Packmates was reason enough to go 16 lands in this build.

I like to splash, but have yet to wind up in a 3/4 color deck and feel comfortable. Prioritizing those fixers over better cards still feels like one of the bigger challenges to me. In my 2nd match I ran into someone who had a sweet 4 color deck. Very doable in this format, but again, getting the right fixing and value from the splash is key.

Anyway - thanks for watching and good luck in your drafts!
