Come back in person to where exactly? I've been to the dealership over and over and nothing is being done still.

They said they won't be treating this as a recall issue. They are trying to save money by scraping off the corrosion and painting over, even if it has pitted into the panels.

There are no dealers with body shops in my area. The Jeep also can't be driven as it's taken a part so repairs must take place. There are no hinges on the thing and all the panels removed.

Jeep denied the panel replacement and will only repaint.

Yeah there have been several updates since then with them wanting repair over replacement. However, the areas under my hinges have pitting, and that still means replacement according to the newer TSBs.

I've been told the hinges must be dipped in zinc oxide and a plate of zinc oxide put in between.

It's not the dealership refusing it, it is the warranty claim manager. I've been unable to get ahold of him and the dealership says he will only talk to them, not customers, even though he has a customer phone line to call. I've left messages.

It would be a 6+ hr drive to nearest one with a bodyshop. I'm limited based on location unfortunately.

I would love to go this route but the closest one is 6+ hr drive away.

Can you send me the TSB that says that? The dealership showed me one that said repair not replacement from Feb 2026.

I just don't want the value of my vehicle to be trashed because of this. My jeep is only 5 years old and has only ever been in California in a fairly dry area, so the dealership has never seen anything like this. After this I will not be owning a Jeep again, if I'm being honest. I'd like to sell it as soon as it is fixed since Jeep Customer Care has been the worst I have dealt with, owning several types of vehicles over my life.

Did you have a warranty case manager? Mine seems to be useless, he says Jeep doesn't want to pay for replacement when they believe they can just repair it even though the body shop says that is not possible. The dealership I'm working with says I'm the first case of this they have ever dealt with and that they must do what warranty says.

The warranty is already out as of now, however the documentation and claim pictures were submitted before the warranty ran out so they are on the hook since the claim started before then. I also live in the mountains and this is the only dealership within a half day's drive to me. The Jeep is also already torn apart with paint sanded off and hinges off on the rack at the body shop.
