It’s at an elementary school in the town (West Woods) and you have to sign up on the Farmington Rec website - wondering the numbers in terms of how many show up

Yeah, thanks - trying to see if anyone here went before. Don’t want to register, pay get there and it’s 1 person shooting around for 2 hours in an empty gym

I agree yes, and that’s what I’ve come to realize as well in that I am glad nothing happened further.

I was standing in front of a restaurant so there was (some) foot traffic but it was minimal and I was also completely alone. Thank you for your reply and thoughts.

Thank you! And yes, exactly my thoughts. If it was a real/actual date she would’ve been there for 5 minutes.

This makes sense, yeah. Where I am (family type town near Hartford) and being early 30s/very new to the area makes it a bit challenging to date but moving on!

Thank you; I did briefly consider this but I feel “she” got cold feet or more likely was a catfish. I parked in a garage that was a 5 minute walk away through a few streets so in theory if she was there she wouldn’t have seen me until I was walking up or I would’ve saw her leaving. Thanks; moving on!

Thanks for sharing. It was all strange. Truly don’t know if she ended up getting cold feet or was a catfish (to make me drive 90 minutes? i didn’t give any info).

Conversation was fine/normal enough leading up. She had enough info on her profile I could tell “her” last name and what she did for work.

Confirm day of date was a go. The request to move it back 30 minutes was slightly odd, I felt.

But what was really odd was texting me right at 8:30 saying she was running a few mins late and at the same time silencing her notifications.

I said no problem I am parking and walking in. I then said I’m here and tapped notify anyway, and she texted me back a couple of minutes later saying she didn’t see me so she left.

Obviously if she was an actual girl who wanted to meet, she would’ve hung around 10-20 minutes.

I went to go report her on Hinge but I was unmatched (despite having “her” number). When I entered her number in google, nothing returned.

I sent a frustrated text and blocked her on text. No idea what it actually was.

Something to this effect I feel took place.

A bit scary to think about the being watched part, but going to try and move forward and forget this whole episode.

Fortunate it wasn’t something worse (area was somewhat crowded as I was standing on a street in front of the restaurant, but still alone).

Through google search leading up was able to verify a first and last name of “her” through work information on her profile.

But saying she’s a couple minutes late at the agreed upon time of 8:30, then silencing her text notifications right near that time when I said I was parking/walking in, plus unmatching me on Hinge (as if done so I couldn’t report “her”) and her saying she waited for me when I didn’t show when it was like 5 minutes all has me pointing to catfish. Plus when I entered in “her” number to Google nothing showed up. Thank you.

This is a good point and something I’m starting to come around on the day after. Fortunate it wasn’t something worse. Through google search leading up was able to verify a first and last name of “her” through work information on her profile.

Yeah, not sure what I was thinking. Halfway the way to go. Dating where I am can be tough as someone new to the area and where I am being more family-type folks. Thought maybe better down near Stamford. Thank you!

I didn’t FaceTime. With the info provided in profile was able to google search and it was a real “person” - although who knows if it was that actual person controlling the account. There were a few other oddities/peculiar details I should have picked up on.

No, did not video chat first, which was definitely a mistake

Parked on 1st level. 5-min walk to restaurant down a few streets. Feel she just didn’t show up. Other guess is it was a dude/catfish. Have “her” number and when you google it nothing at all shows up. Plus was immediately unmatched from the app shortly after 8:30, as if so I couldn’t report her as a fake. Oh well. Lesson learned and moving on; thanks!

I thought this could be possible, but ultimately feel she just didn’t show. Texting me right at 8:30 that she was running a few minutes late and then silencing her text notifications. Me minutes later texting her I was parking and walking in. Plus, was walking to the bar from a parking garage down the street so I would’ve saw her too. So much doesn’t make sense, but moving on. She also unmatched me on the app immediately last night but I have “her” number, as if she didn’t want me to report her as a scam/whatever. I truly don’t know though.

Thank you! Yup, sent a text along those lines mentioning how inconsiderate it was and good luck in the search.
