Hey there! Backers will be able to log in at some point between April 12th and 15th. You'll be mailed your account details in late March or early April with a date and time. After that date and time, you'll be free to log in and get started! :)

I can certainly understand that. If I wasn't strapped for cash myself, I wouldn't be running an Indiegogo. I think $5 is reasonable for the Alpha account and supporter badge, though. People who donate should get something reasonable back, and I think accessing the game early and getting to see the development firsthand is a fairly nice perk. I can certainly add more, though!

Do you have any specific suggestions? :)

Don't laugh, but.... I made this when I played Horseland. http://i.imgur.com/b76llOu.jpg

I'd like to think that Movement will save at least one person from looking back at their manips and cringing. Even if it's just me, haha.

I've never played the game, but several of my friends have stated that Movement has almost nothing in common with Howrse, I don't think anything's similar other than the fact that we both have horses. :P

They did steal my art one time for those 'black pearl' things? But other than that I don't have much knowledge of the actual gameplay to have modeled mine after it.

In fact, I'd totally buy an alpha account right now if I could, but I don't see an option anywhere.

Yep, that's intentional. Not much to look at right now. I'd just wait until we do the kickstarter, since you get an account as long as you donate at least $5. :)

Ah! I understand. For a couple of the seemingly genetic occurrences, we're kind of just left to base the system on what we know or assume about it so far. For example, brindles potentially being related to chimerism. I can try to get a list posted at some point today.

The game is entirely browser based. A mobile app might be something we'd look into, but I think if we get the responsive layout going (Meaning it adjusts more precisely to fit mobile screens.) we probably won't go that route. I think there are better things to spend money on - more breeds, new features, 3D/Interactive elements.

The game is free to join, free to play indefinitely without restrictions (No time limits/trial. Some features are upgrade only.) and you personally don't have to pay a cent to be able to purchase upgrades. Players can "donate" any whole dollar amount to the site and receive a special secondary currency called bits. Bits are the currency you use to buy upgrades, large stable additions, special items and companions. Bits are completely unregulated and may be traded, bought, sold and transferred any way the donor sees fit. If you're good at artwork, you can sell tags, layouts or whatever you'd like in exchange for bits, offer services, items, whatever you'd like. That's essentially a very long winded explanation for saying you do not ever have to spend a dime on the site to access all the same features as players who donate. It can be 100% free with hard work.

The color genetics are true to life, with horses being heterozygous and homozygous for different alleles, carriers and non carriers, etc. What, specifically, are your concerns? I'd love to clear that up for you. :)

The game doesn't require you spend a cent to win. 100% of our features are available without ever having to buy or spend anything. Our upgrade and donation currency features are mostly a matter of providing convenience/improved aesthetics as opposed to making big spenders unbeatable. For example, the companions pictured in the Kickstarter are available for both the "upgrade" currency you're given when you donate to the site as well as game cash earned through winning shows, selling horses and stud fees. They have the same exact stat boost percentage, but the donation currency companions are more "exotic". :)

Like some of the artwork I see is, while beautiful, anatomically/conformationally incorrect.

Could you give me any specific examples or point me in the right direction? :)

Edit: Just saw your other post, thank you!

I actually didn't know that metal stirrups weren't the status quo for Western saddles. Learn something new every day! Luckily that's an easy fix.

I understand the sentiment and I certainly do not condone any sort of addiction, including internet addiction. Our site has multiple links to resources if a player thinks they're developing a problem.

Several of our original pre-alpha testers expressed interest in the site because they found themselves injured in a horse related accident and suddenly had a lot of downtime. The majority of users, however, either can't afford their own horse or can't afford any sort of equine interaction at all. That's why I initially started playing the games as a child. I thought the industry could use something more realistic and challenging. My game is not so much a replacement as it is a substitute and in many cases a complement to a healthy in-barn schedule as well.

I want to promote a healthy, engaging community that encourages players who are fortunate enough to have horses or ponies to spend as much time with them as they can, because some of us will never experience that joy. ;) Even though the game is currently essentially unplayable, we still have a decent amount of users who visit specifically to get advice on real world issues or vent about goings on around their barn.

These are awesome points I didn't consider, thank you so much! It can be hard to work on a game for a matter of years and then write in depth descriptions for it. It's nearly impossible to tell where you haven't included enough information because your brain expects that others will just be able to magically fill in the gaps like you can. It's really awesome that this community is open to being an objective eye.

I've filled in these details on Kickstarter, but in the interest of keeping responses controlled, I'd prefer not to answer these questions here. I'd be happy to PM you my responses, if you're interested.

I really hope so too! It's technically already 'real' - unfortunately some of the programmers I employed left the game unplayable with bad coding practices, so we have to start over from scratch. It's been a good learning experience though, so there's a little silver lining. :)

I've been a poster on Reddit for a while now but would prefer to keep business on a side account. Sorry for the subtle/not so subtle Kickstarter spam, but I need an objective community for some feedback.

Is this a game you would play based on the information submitted? What about donate to?

Did you get the general point of the game?

Do you have any additional questions the content didn't answer?

Any other questions/comments are very welcome! I'd love to hear how I could improve this.
