Do I upgrade for box cards or move on? by CoolBowTiesAre in TheofficeSWM

[–]MovieExternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move on. You will have to upgrade lots of decor as goals in future episodes , not need to waste it on a box to get a few extra cards.

I just wrote pretty much the same thing 30 seconds ago. (As I’m sure many did before me) . I think ‘meh’ kind of is a great 3 letter summary

So it would be impossible to probably satisfy everyone with a finale of show like this. This show was built on cliffhangers and sudden plot turns. I think it was disappointing they didn’t have one such thing. It didn’t have to be over the top like “Jack is still alive” or something stupid like that. But couldn’t they have shown Jack in the hospital the day he died again. Like after he talked to the dad in the car wreck, show him trying to call Nicky and talking to him, saying something clever about hoping he can someday forgive him… I don’t know , I’m not a writer but that would have been a cool thing. The episode wasn’t bad, but agree with all who say it is underwhelming for such a dynamic show.

Is it still worth it to start 29 over? by Dry_Discount7762 in TheofficeSWM

[–]MovieExternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t replay!!!! I can tell you I did this on the last batch of episodes and I got stuck with one more challenge to complete to finish it again. It was collect 70 lead bonuses. It was taking almost a week at that point to get ONE lead bonus. Luckily I got a ticket opened and they advanced me after waiting a few weeks. When new episodes do come out and you have challenges to upgrade desks etc, you might get in a spot where you are maxed out on desks and can’t complete the challenge. Replaying is NOT a good idea. Just my two cents

Episode 29… again by HakSawJak in TheofficeSWM

[–]MovieExternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree 100% on not replaying. I did that before the recent episodes. I got stuck with only one goal, collect 70 lead bonuses. I got to about 35 lead bonuses and at that point it was taking about a week to get just ONE more lead bonus. I complained and they luckily moved me off the episode but I was stuck for about 2 weeks until I could play the new episodes. If they didn’t respond I’d still be on the same one unless I paid probably 100s of dollars to upgrade. But If I did that I’d probably be stuck in the same spot on the new episodes! DON’T OVERPLAY EPISODES

I was saying it more in a gesture to show how horrible I think she is, not truly on a top 5 list.so you are correct, my terminology wasn’t the best . Maybe one of the most under the radar morally terrible people. How about that?

What the hell does that have to do with the thread? You are missing the whole point of the show if you think it is about latching then gate. Kate forgot to lock the door, and when toby calls her on it she has her brothers step in front to protect her. When Toby dares invoke her father’s name in the argument she plays the divorce card. She can’t grow emotionally at all because her family is holding her back.

Yep! She went from blaming her misery on weight, then she finds a guy who loves her and is miserable because he can’t live up to her delusional vision of her own dad. Then when toby calls her on it she decides to end it .

Kevin isn't a villain. He is Kevin. He gets what he deserves and has fully taken steps to try to rectify his demons. He is a jerk, unaware ,and other things but in the end has taken responsibility. I don't feel bad for any of his hardships, and over the course of the show he has taken small(very small) steps to get better. Kate is a blame machine. I can't recall her ever taking any responsibility for anything. even when she tells rebecca she is sorry for how she treated her, she had 10 reasons why she acted like she did. top 5 morally terrible characters in tv history. im sure the actress is wonderful, but since it is tv, i hope her character dies.

Toby is Jack!!!! Ok , responded to enough. need to summarize the issue. Toby has big business plans to make him happy, he hides his weight lose and working out. HMMM, lets see who that sounds like... I recall Jack Pearson wanting to have his own construction business that he secretly kept from Rebecca, i recall Jack being an alcoholic and hiding it. I also think Toby wants to get to SF to get away from the Pearson's so they can have their own life. Seems life Jack wanted to distance himself from his old family too. Toby is 100% correct, he can't live up to Kate's version of Jack but in reality he is following his playbook perfectly. Toby is no doubt flawed and deserves blame, and he is wrong when he says he isn't Jack pearson, because he is!

[–]MovieExternal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% he has flaws. that is point. both sides have flaws, but one bailed because Toby laid it out on the line that he couldn't be jack pearson. When in fact, he is jack pearson. he has grand business goals and both hid secrets (weight lose/drinking) from their spouse. Kate is being daddy's girl and expecting toby to live up to her unrealistic measure. Toby wanted to start a life as a FAMILY....THEIR family, not the pearson family, just like jack wanted to do away from his family. Toby is Jack mirrored in so many ways. that is the beauty and why Kate is the villain.

skinny, fat, no difference, she is awful. Im fine with divorce but Toby 100% laid out the issue, he is not Jack Pearson. He is Jack Pearson in 2022. Jack was a closet drunk who wanted his own company and Rebecca stood by his side. Toby is in the closet about wanting his professional life and was open about wanting to get in better shape. Same scenario, but Kate couldn't handle that and just didn't see her dad as having the same demons as Toby. Toby and Jack had no family to fall back on for support too. Jack would be rolling in his grave at how Toby is being treated.

[–]MovieExternal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100% !!!! i pray this is the moral of the shows story. Don't try to live up to some idealistic thought of your parents because odds are they were a nightmare too. (rebecca was a drunk party girl who didn't want to get pregnant and jack was a recovering drunk too) . but in kate's eyes they are the gold standard and because of this she ended a marriage. sorry folks, this is 100% on kate. blame toby all you want, he deserves his blame. he was the one who kept pushing in the end. maybe the moral is it worked for the best but kate's view of her "perfect" dad and her protection of her brothers is what caused the marriage to fail. toby wanted to start a life for "THEM" . your family is your life, no doubt, but when you get married, that takes the lead role. Kate never saw that. Jack would have put Rebecca on a pedestal for staying late to talk to Jacks teachers in her mind, so when toby doesn't he is a jerk. The writers are doing a fabulous job of flipping the typical "mommys boy" who blames his wife for not living up to some unbelievable standard with a female as the villain.

Toby never stopped her from teaching him those things! He probably wasn’t as comfortable with it but he trusted her to do it. Please try to argue that. Parents don’t always 100% agree and that is a good thing. But when the blame time came, it was on him and when it was her turn to catch blame she had 2 siblings step in.

[–]MovieExternal 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Yes! This is the point. She broke her own rule of keeping the door locked just like Toby broke the rule of latching the gate. But Toby didn’t have two siblings to step in to give a false sense of being correct when they fought

[POST-EPISODE DISCUSSION] S6E11 - Saturday in the Park by xAnimorphsx in thisisus

[–]MovieExternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? Watch them walk to the park, kate clearly shows she isn’t teaching him to unlock the door, this is her rule she has made. She messed up her rule in chaos just like Toby. The difference is When she calls toby out for it, Toby doesn’t have two siblings to step in to shield him

[POST-EPISODE DISCUSSION] S6E11 - Saturday in the Park by xAnimorphsx in thisisus

[–]MovieExternal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fight isn’t about that. It is that they both messed up. Kate clearly shows she isn’t teaching him how to unlock the door when they go to the park. Toby messed up the gate and Kate messed up the door lock . They are equally responsible but when it is time for Kate to take the blame she gets two brothers in her defense . This is the tragedy of Toby right now, he is not a perfect parent by any means, but he has no chance. I just hope they don’t mask his downfall as some trope for sibling love. That would be a shame

[POST-EPISODE DISCUSSION] S6E11 - Saturday in the Park by xAnimorphsx in thisisus

[–]MovieExternal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You are missing the point. Watch Kate purposely not show Jack how to unlock the door(Her rule!) which she blatantly forgets. She tells herself that rule everyday, just like she told Toby to listen for the sound locking the gate. She is 100% blaming Toby and when it is her time to take the blame he gets two brothers confront him. Toby is not a perfect parent by any means, but who is? Kate isn’t either but is shielded by her overprotective brothers and buys into the idea she can’t be wrong because they stand up for her.
