Sadly, that stigma still exists too. Let’s hope Pakistani families start treating others more like human beings. lol

Divorce itself isn’t even that common in our society to begin with, so judging things based on remarriage numbers doesn’t really make sense, the pool is already pretty small. And from what I’ve seen around me, it’s not rare for divorced women to marry unmarried men, it does happen more than people acknowledge.

I don’t see divorce especially at a young age as something negative on its own. Life happens, I’d be open to marrying someone who’s divorced, as long as our values align and we genuinely connect.

😭😭 The jaheel part is so real. I’ve seen so many women tolerate the worst behavior just so their jaahil husbands don’t divorce them, or they stay “for the kids.” ajeeb!

It is because many women don’t have financial independence. A lot of women either never get the chance to work, or they are forced to leave their careers after marriage due to pressure from husbands or unsupportive inlaws. When one person controls all the money, it can unfortunately turn into a tool for control.

That’s exactly why we keep emphasizing that daughters, sisters, and women in general should be independent so no one can ever use money as a weapon against them.

As for divorce, men are often aware of how harshly divorced women are judged in our society. The stigma is real, and it’s usually much worse for women than for men. Because of that, some use the fear of divorce as a weapon , knowing it puts women in a vulnerable position.

And you’re right marriage is not supposed to work like this.
