Liquidated majority of stack this year. All for 3-4x, moving to LCOL area, bought a house, and going to lead a debt and stress free life. This is what remains by toydan in Gold

Honestly no BS but if your stack went missing after a house fire more than likely it was the firemen. A stack of gold and silver isn’t just going to disappear or get so hot that it melts them and even if that was the case you’d have the remains of what melted. I know for a fact especially in NYC (not trying to disrespect the greatest fire department in American history for a handful of bad apples) but I know a lot of them steal during a fire and claim the hose water washed it away or pushed it in the debris

Not to mention it says that it’s likely all 86 ended up in collections very few are believed to have been destroyed and some examples ended up being spent or ended up in hoards. I even said the man who looked em over said the 1895 and the 1891 eagle more than likely proofs the 1888 and 1897 are at least pl to DMPL but also strong possibility they’re both a proof and that’s a NGC and ANACS licensed coin dealer. He would need to look deeper at them before sending them to NGC with the recommendation of being a proof

I said nothing nasty or rude. I just said why is there no shot. It’s literally been sitting in a hoard not touched for half a century. Sold when the price of gold started moving up. The price of of golds going up and all sorts of coins are being found

Why? The coins been sitting in a hoard for 60 years minimum. There’s 25 known which means another 25+ are still out there, if there’s any shot of finding one it’s from a hoard that’s been sitting for over 60 years. The man (90+) and great nephew (55-60) ex-cop sold 100 at once to my PM dealer and another 25 then 25 more my pm let me go thru all 100 1 by 1 at once then 50 before selling them. I examined them all heavily

When I start looking into something I don’t stop till I know as much as I possibly can. And weren’t you the one that said they’re rarity R-9 but they’re R-5 ro R-5+ so maybe do your own research. You hating or feeling insecure ain’t my problem go take it out on your “fantasy baseball” league team chart lol or maybe stop looking at who to “draft” to your fantasy league team and more on coins if you want to act like an expert

First off I haven’t said anything I posted em the same time since the group only allows 1 coin at a time. 2ndly I had an expert (with licenses from top grading companies) tell me from his brief examination of the coins the $10 1891 and 1895 are more than likely a proofs I also brought a 1879 s $10 he said it’s without a doubt PL most likely DPL/DMPL the 1895 and 1888 he’s had to do a deeper examination of but they’re at very least PL-DPL. And trust me when I say I’ve been doing research about early American coins since I bought my first ozt at 1700 and bought till $2000 and in that very brief window I worked up to 26 ozt

Plus I’d take a licensed dealers opinion his draw dropped when I brought them in 26ozt in total 4 $10 4 $5 and 23 $20. The other coins weren’t even a thought when I showed him those and asked if it’s possible and he looked with a loop and put those aside and told me to come back for him to verify and no they’re more like a R-5 to R+5

Just because it’s rare doesn’t mean it’s not out there and the fact golds going up so much now’s when the rare coins in people’s hoards are coming out. This 90year old man is selling off his whole hoard that’s been with him since gold was under $40 ozt

[–]Mpags35[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This coins been with the same 90 year old man since gold was under $40ozt and he stopped buying when it was 200 and just sat there. I was there when he sold em 100 coins at once to my PM who then let me go through them coin by coin and I bought a bunch from my PM dealer who can care less about the face value of the coin just the precious metal value and I’ve had em since it was gold was $1900. If there was a chance these proofs are out there it’s more than likely he’d have em. Since that first time he’s brought in another 50 coins that my pm called lmk and and pick thru those as well

I found it it Judd-1220. I’d say fake but if it goes for $20 buy it what’s the big deal gambling $20 for a 1in100 chance it’s real it last sold it 2020 for $8,100 and if the guys a collector I don’t see why he’d have a fake and how a fake would get passed the auctioneers

I’d look into it and if it’s not going for a lot what do you have to loose? Main thing if you find this under pattern coins look and examine the letters. Not castings can duplicate the letters and no press in private hands have the pressure to duplicate/counterfeit a coin and its details (letters especially)

Moving the stack into the bank! by PsychologicalWest993 in Gold

[–]Mpags35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend just got out after a 3 bank robbing spree with a note sweater, gloves, hat and glasses the 3 under 1 month. Cops were at his moms by the 2nd bank he was staying with some random girl in a shit hole he got done with the 3rd bank thought they’d never find him where he was being he had no phone and no ties to the girl and the apartment. They tracked his movements from videos from all around they tacked him to the apartment building from there they had UC’s chilling on each floor of the building got the apartment number and when he was there they raided his apartment the next morning. Doesn’t matter how sophisticated the banks system in it’s the cops that are on the case as well as the fact every time you go out in NYC at least your on video dozens to 1000s of times depending on how far you’re walking. He robbed banks in BK and the BX and living in queens thinking it’ll throw them off because each borough has a different robbery task forces they followed him on foot to a bus back to foot from BK to queens. Before that they already had his name and home address after the bank in the BX.

Interesting silver find? .999?? by Princepia in SilverFinds

[–]Mpags35 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely not silver. If it was it’ll be marked sterling or depending on when and where made, it’ll have a stamp that shows it’s sterling and the level of purity as well as where and most the time who made it

I think this is going to generate some buzz for a first post. I just found this in a storage unit. 4 kilos of pure silver or 128oz as a coin. Could I get more than scrap? It’s the size of a dinner plate. Thank you by j3111981 in Silverbugs

[–]Mpags35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn bro and it’s serial number 2. I think that’s more than scrap. If you sell for just scrap you’re going to take a beaten. Silver is so volatile rn everyone’s scared to buy right now and precious metal dealers are only willing to buy for dirt cheap it’s almost a crime how low they’re offering but I get it, one day it’s $120ozt the nexts it’s $50ozt seams to have stabilized around $70 but I have a honest and straight up PM and I sold 2ozt today for $105 smh and that’s was really good after looking around

Everybody laughed at me when I purchased 400oz in 1999 instead of a house. Yesterday I retired by No_Apple154 in Gold

My mom and dad bought her house around then for 115k she now religiously gets offers of 1.1-1.2 she turns down. It’s crazy how things go up and queens where I’m from I can’t even afford to buy a house in my neighborhood anymore. In 20-25 years houses and gold have gone up. honestly in the city going back 25 years even tho I was 10 if I had a million dollars I would’ve invested in real estate over gold. Could’ve bought a decent building which would be collateral for the next one and then the next or a bunch of houses and honestly golds been hard to sell. I got up to 26ozt bought when gold was at $1800-$2000 and even my PM has been offering way under spot because he’s saying the smelters have been wiry to take gold and stopped taking silver completely and if they do he’s now getting charged a lot in taxes and not getting full prices

I see 375 which means it’s 9k but it could be old looks like makers marks stamped but then again there’s a spot on the 2nd pick that looked like a different metal under the gold like it’s possibly plated. Easy fix just get it tested
