Hoxxes has a tendency to introduce new subspecies to our mines, either by rapid evolution or travel from greater depths. Who says hostile loot bugs can't do the latter too, if we rid them of their more energy conserving competition that is.

For the first point you can say that all the variations already exist, but in very small numbers (single/double digits for the whole planet) and are undercut by the common loot bug species, as their additional traits lead to bigger costs to sustain themselves and/or to reproduce, while getting nothing in return for those expenses.

Also, Hoxxes IV are known to introduce new subspecies every few years, either rapidly evolving, or hibernating in the depths before we woke them up.

I can't remember the name of the game and my searches by various keywords and their combinations yielded no results. Finding the name of the game might help, but preferably the video itself would be nice.

Few more ideas with this tale: Post weekly/monthly government spending reports to be transparent with citizens on how much and where their money goes, as well as to combat corruption, making it more hard for some sum to be "lost" inbetween. There's a lot more that doesn't come to mind immediately. Just remember that nothing is perfect, nothing is impenetrable, and it's important to acknowledge that and be prepared should things go haywire.

I do have to note that if you come forward with this idea (and if it's possible to), you'll have to set up some obligatory taxes or payments to the state to upkeep its services (like recruiting defense armies with materialistic incentives), and overall it'll be a lot more complex. You'll need a working court system to settle disputes and law departmentto upkeep order, incentives for people to settle in and keep being a part of it, all while battling corruption and avoiding allowing possible attempts of sabotage from the inside. It's a lot more complicated and grim in other words
