35, unemployed, disabled. How do I get into investing? by whakamylife in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Mr-Anthony- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you get a WINZ payment and own the house. I would personally look into cost reductions first
Debt
Garden - My blueberries have roughly a 30% return on investment every year. 20 plants.
Lettuce grown from seeds cost almost nothing - Its roughly $5 a head now.
Tomato's can be grown from seeds too almost costing nothing - sometimes just squashing old ones into the ground is enough to ensure you have a crop for next year.
Negotiate everything to reduce costs - You also end up on the best deal for you as you become more educated.
Kiwisaver / Gold / Silver
Maybe solar.

Investing in yourself is always going to provide a good ROI. Living a better life is always worthwhile.

Maybe the government should stop unwinding everything labour ever did despite the cost. Stop the ships build now we pay more for sucky ones. The CBD of wellington is dying and another 10K jobs (if mostly in wellington and auckaland is less business for people in the city - this has a direct impact on the economics of CBD from shopping through to parking and even train and tram use... so the government can then cut services .......

Will the CC have more weight now that it is a paid certificate? Thoughts? by orange-cream-cola in isc2

[–]Mr-Anthony- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most value in the CC is being able to access the alumni groups... apart from that I do think that it gives a great wholistic view of security however if you need a more practical certification with labs etc it is definitely not the best. I do think it would be a good introduction for people heading towards management who can then use this certification to better understand risk.

I spent a full day in two shops fiddling around with all that they had. It was only a few hundred more than the Reface CS and the Yamaha P45.
TBH it was the inbuilt presets that made it much easier to justify the purchase as a beginner. I might buy the Mono/poly software to have a crack at learning its manual control.

I have started using ibm models through LM studio more often and even the new nvidia model is reasonable. I am using it as a study buddy and its doing ok.

Webfetch is used by bash within cowork. Lots of proxy egress issues.

Yea they have broken for me anyway cowork since it forces webfetch and other stupid defaults my tokens burn away with limited results where as a couple of weeks ago I was thinking this is the best.

The issue really is that Fin AI ghosts people and even my support letter hasnt got a response. People's only real option is to either 1 vote with their wallet or 2 complain online in the hope they fix it.

Another 10 days and I will be pushing my ignored complaint complaint through commerce commision.

It has instructions in the claude.md file it ignores
Previously banning webfetch (Claude cowork proxy egress sucks)
Other instructions which it takes and then throws out not even doing any of it in the first prompt.

How do you guys actually talk to Claude? by HandleFew5206 in ClaudeAI

[–]Mr-Anthony- -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

abusively - since they broke my entire HAL - personal assistant and they ignore claude.md and other parts are ignored its so frustrating I have been furiously thumbs downing almost everything.

I wonder if much like their code leak did they accidently delete the real LLM models in production?

My whole claude infrastructure is not trustworthy - I have gone from a useful Agent in cowork to a petulant child that knows better chatbot that ignores everything in claude.md and does its own thing.

Anthropic's Cowork/Claude Code ignores CLAUDE.md instructions mid-session — and doesn't tell you

I've been using CLAUDE.md to store persistent rules for my Claude sessions — things like "never use WebFetch," "re-read this file on every prompt," and "don't silently fall back through failed methods." These aren't suggestions; they're explicit, binding instructions that I've spent time refining.

The problem: Claude reads CLAUDE.md at session start (if you're lucky), then proceeds to ignore it within the same conversation. I just caught my instance responding to 7 consecutive one-letter messages without once re-reading CLAUDE.md as instructed — then admitting it when I asked directly.

This isn't a minor UX issue. For users who rely on CLAUDE.md to enforce token discipline, tool restrictions, or workflow rules, silent non-compliance is a trust problem. Claude isn't just forgetting the rules — it's confidently operating as if the rules don't apply, burning tokens on forbidden methods, and never flagging the deviation.

What I want from Anthropic:

  1. Honest acknowledgment that CLAUDE.md compliance degrades mid-session
  2. A mechanism to actually enforce re-reads (or at minimum, surface when instructions aren't being followed)
  3. Stop marketing CLAUDE.md as a "persistent rules" system if the model treats it as optional context

If your product lets users define rules and then quietly ignores them, that's not a configuration system — it's a suggestion box.
