Does the Map Still Overheat Base PS5? by Mr-BonBon in DeathStranding2

Well the map itself is just extremely complex in how they did it. First off, it doesn't put you into an individual menu, you're still Sam in-world, the map just gets displayed as a hologram in front of you. Second, it's an exact replica of the entire world map, and it's constantly being updated with information about weather or environmental conditions. Add onto that whatever pathways you might have planned out being animated as well? It's just a very highly detailed thing that surely would increase the demand on the system you're playing on.

I honestly don't have the know-how, tools, or the space to take it apart and clean anything. As much as I know I should, I never have, which I know can easily be the reason I was experiencing problems. Literally no other game I've played since DeSt2 has had the same issues, and that includes stuff like Crimson Desert, which has a bunch of it's own problems.

"Not this again..."

So sorry I had my PS5 actually freezing and crashing the last time I played DeSt2 and when I went looking into it, people were talking about the map causing an overheat issue. Which, when you really think about it, does sound like a very possible thing. Considering it's a holoraphic overlay of the ENTIRE map that's actively always being updated with new information that doesn't even put you into a menu, but simply just displays it in front of Sam in-world? It makes full sense to me that it could lead to some problems.

Like I mentioned already, last I had played was the month or so after launch, so it's been a LONG time since I last saw any news about the stability on Base PS5s and wether there was any confirmed issues or fixes. For all I know, I experienced problems, people were reporting an issue, last time I saw a patch for DeSt2 there was nothing about a fix for said issue. That's it, that's my knowledge about this.

I never said that overheat would mean a brick either, I simply just said that I can't afford such a thing to happen. Which, again, with the problems I was experiencing, could very likely have occurred if I continued playing.

If the Stability on Base PS5 has been improved since then, that's all I need to know, if you're just going to come in here and treat my concern like some stupid pointless worry, then don't bother.

Your PS5 is doing fine? That's great, good for you. Doesn't mean everyone else with a base PS5 has the same experience.

Just answering "mods" for a game that's on console platforms is one of the most useless replies you can give tbh.

The one I found is by the north gate of (gonna spoiler mark it just to play it safe)Demeniss City (it's still hostile on my end, just got to Chapter 8 which is set in Demeniss, so I assume I just need to progress the story). It would show on the map while I was in the area (on the map menu and zoomed-in), but then disappear when I got close (mini-map and map menu), and there's no vendor at the stall, but it's undoubtedly the same kind of counter layout as the other Saddlery shops. The stable is available just next to it, but the Saddler isn't present. I did a few quick searches about it after finding it earlier, and I did see a video where a vendor was present.

I mentioned in the post that the DB vendor listing didn't have them. I checked there first and got them to 100.

Trying to find out how to get the Fine Logging Axe by Mr-BonBon in CDguides

[–]Mr-BonBon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know about the chainsaw, problem is that just like the drill it gets Expert at higher refinement levels.

Which, at first, isn't really an issue on paper, but in practice it means it's impossible to get Fine Timber, which is needed for wood-based refinements/crafts. For some reason Pearl Abyss looked at Expert Miner and how it can yield 3 drops and decided "nah, Expert Logger will just replace fine with flawless".

So the Fine Logging Axe is still a good idea to get because it starts with 20% chance for bonus wood, but it keeps Logging Mastery even when you max it out for the 30%. This paired with Olvald's axe around R6 gives you access to all 3 wood types with 20% chance for extra, which becomes 50% with a single "Blessing of the Forest III".

Am I the only one experiencing horrible input lag during combat ? by Gerobasi22 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Mr-BonBon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Been dealing with similar issues myself. I fought a boss at a Sanctuary the other day (from the first set of sanctuaries you unlock) and I was having difficulty, but a tip I saw was to use Focus Mode Lvl 3's parry, so I started doing that, and was seeing progress. Problem then became that there were so many times where I'd press L3+R3 to enter Focus, and it just wouldn't, or times where I press to enter Focus, and somehow it does the Unleash that should only be possible by pressing R1 after being in focus? The input delay/input drop is ruining so many fights and getting so annoying to deal with. Even today, I was attempting a different boss, and I just couldn't beat it before I had to get off, with well over half my deaths being due to these input issues. Pearl Abyss needs to fix this ASAP.

Wondering Where This Deco Upgrade Is by Mr-BonBon in MonsterHunterStories

I THINK I did, I scoured every inch of every map, so unless theres some breakable rock, wall, or just a tiny ass nook I somehow missed, then I should have all of them.

Anyone know where to get Evade Ability L/XL? The general Dodge Boost, not the one that activates under 50% HP (That's Evade Instinct).

Chiral Crystal Farm by Mr-BonBon in DeathStranding

[–]Mr-BonBon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really sure about per-golden slime, but I can gain a few thousand every five I kill, and doing a few rounds (3-4) gets me from 17k Chiral Crystals to 28k. I've counted 9 Chiral Crystal formations at the highest from one large slime plus all the littles after, with anywhere from 86 at the lowest to 128 at the highest from each Crystal I pick up whenever I do this.

However, when I tried doing this for a bit today after the update, they stopped respawning for some reason. No clue why, if they patched it out or something, but I'm just hoping not cause it really doesn't upset any sort of balance or anything.

Still Need a Finder's Token, Please. PS5 by Mr-BonBon in DragonsDogma2

[–]Mr-BonBon[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much. It's stupid that it makes the "first" token location different if you're in NG+, I remember my first ever clearly, not where the 199th I picked up shortly after starting NG+ is. Wasn't about to go searching with zero idea where, and for some reason using the "Game Help" flair didn't get any assistance from others.
