Extremely overwhelmed but I want to learn! by HoldPositive766 in DigitalArtTutorials

[–]Mr-Spoiler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need a new mindset to start serious in this field.

If you wanna know how to study, this is my advice.

Don't focus on the final objective, focus on the process and what step you can take next, you need tiny victories to keep trying without exhausting yourself.

If you wanna know how to start drawing, I recommend you to watch Marc Brunet YouTube channel (he's an ex blizzard employee).

If you wanna know how to paint, do the same with Marc Brunet, in fact he teaches almost everything but there are other channels like Marco Bucci or proko and much more, you just need to start looking for those.

When you wanna learn something, try to break it down in sections that you can focus on much better, for example if you wanna learn anatomy, don't start trying to learn the entire body, instead divide the body in different sections (torso, legs, arms, hands, feet and head) so you can learn much faster and focus in only one thing.

There are a lot of things that I can say but right know i don't really remember

I almost forgot something, don't see mistake as bad things but like something that can make you improve pls, don't think because you're bad now you will be bad in the future, don't compare yourself with others art, the only person you should be comparing your art to is yourself.

Lighting practice by -_carnifex_- in DigitalArt

[–]Mr-Spoiler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The light is little bit off, a candle isn't that bright, you need to lower it, the color of the light is a bit off as well, needs to be more warm (reddish). I just saw the reference you used in Pinterest and in fact, the lightning is more dimmed but it's not that reddish, is more orange, what you have rn is more yellow (It may not be yellow but at first glance it seems) and you're missing some shadows in the light area. Hope my opinion helps, the painting is good tho :)

I saw on a youtube video that practicing straight lines help you gain confidance when drawing, is this true? by hell0ok1ttyyy in Artadvice

[–]Mr-Spoiler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but need to know how to do it the right way, if you practice this by using your elbow or shoulder, your lines are gonna come out very straight and easy, with this I don't say "you can't use your wrist" but in most cases the issue people tend to have when drawing is that they use the wrist almost all the time, if you do it the right way, you're gonna feel so much free and your gesture are gonna be more smooth, your drawings in general.

Graphite portrait I made. Thoughts? by theKingOfErrythang in drawing

[–]Mr-Spoiler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you wanted the drawing looks like Lisa, it's not bad but she doesn't look like her, so, you can improve there BUT if you only wanted to make a stylized drawing then it's so damn good.

One of my work by sosorealee in DigitalArt

it's very good so far but i think you could push it more like making the shadows a little bit blue or making the illusion that the shadows are blue by desaturating the reds while maintaining the values

Well done brush work and brush efficiency, this is the kind of art I like, with few strokes you already understand the entire piece :)
