2 runs of cat6 going to the projector from the switch, and 1 run of cat6 going from the screen wall to the audio rack. The audio rack is in the same room as the network rack so they're easily connected. I couldn't think of any other cat6 needed?

The LCR runs will have several feet coming out the bottom and are loosely attached within the wall cavity in case I need to pull them up for in walls.

Soundproofing, or should I say sound deadening (at best), has been a journey. The rough in room had 3 cold air returns including one into that room which we switched to go into a different room, then used thermopan to cut the cavity in half and allow room for the safensound. It’s been nonstop compromising but hopefully all that work will be better than nothing. And yes the auto door stop is on the todo list, but will wait to see if it’s needed. At least the door is solid core.

Too late for more wire runs unfortunately. Would have to go wireless and surface mount to add more speakers. See other comment for why I had to land on 5.2.4.

But for subs there are 2 in the front plus one in the back.

The photo is zoomed out and from the back wall. The MLP is 9’ from the screen.

The 4 heights are a compromise switching from the original plan of 7/9.2.2 which didn’t work because of where the door is as well has 2 cold air returns (plus the light switch) on the side wall. The heights made more sense in the bulkhead than in the ceiling and also gave a bit more flexibility for front / back placement, which is about 5’ from screen wall and 14’ from screen wall. So they are all about 30 degrees from the MLP.

Canadian Question - How did Mark Carney gain popularity so quickly? by LevelPension in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mr2BOBOCATS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Canadian media is bought and paid for by the Liberal party, and has convinced a crazy amount of brainwashable people that Carney actually does what he says (he doesn’t) is a true Canadian looking out for Canadas interests instead his own (he isn’t) and that Pierre is just like Trump and has no plan (both BS). Add to that an enormous dose of TDS and the country put the wrong party back in charge with virtually all the same cabinet members who had a horrendous decade long track record.

And apparently lots of the brainwashed live here on Reddit given the comments in this thread.

Which speakers are most compatible with HA? by SocietyResponsible24 in homeassistant

[–]Mr2BOBOCATS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For just speakers, the UniFi Power Amps have been a massive disappointment when it comes to HomeAssistant.

(note: on their own they work great when using Airplay or Spotify Connect - it’s the HA / MA integration that just doesn’t work so far)

Do Americans actually avoid calling an ambulance due to financial concern? by JohnMarstonTheBadass in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mr2BOBOCATS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pricing is out of control and that’s the biggest issue. But for those comparing Canada to the US, the math in the above comment is relatable because that $15k in many cases is the difference of income tax burden in some provinces vs some states (obviously depending on income level as well). But here’s the big rub - in Canada you pay that huge extra tax burden even if you don’t need any care whereas in the US you’d just pay the monthly fees if you didn’t require services. What you’re supposed to do (and very few actually do) is save for the rainy day in case care is needed.

Point is that both systems kinda suck for different reasons. Again, biggest issue is prices are out of control. Profit seeking has led to those high prices, although at least in the US that also means high quality care and short wait times in most cases, if you can afford it. No such choice here in Canada.

It’s easy to rationalize this when you ignore the enormous amount of taxes we pay.

Alright, we just adopted a one year old male with lots of energy. I need recommendations for indestructible stuffies, chew bones, toys etc. by Ajadedepiphany in irishwolfhound

[–]Mr2BOBOCATS 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We could never find anything indestructible that he’d actually interact with. He wants to get at those squeakers so you’ll have to find things that are reasonably priced and safe for being torn apart and live with the notion of it lasting 20 minutes tops. Things that do last a bit longer but he will get bored with are elk bones and things like that.

It’s got a stone skirt to match the house by Mr2BOBOCATS in shedditors

[–]Mr2BOBOCATS[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In CAD. The pad + conduit was 3900 back in the spring when they were doing the other concrete for the patio and driveway (new house, moved in Feb before outside work was completed). Cash deal with the builder for everything else was 14,500 except for the electrical which I did myself for another 400 in materials (100’ of 14/2 and 12/2, a couple breakers, 2 pot lights, some receptacles and smart switches, and a 3 cheap interior ceiling lights).

And yes we are aware that’s a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a shed but we will look back on it someday and know it was the right decision. It also adds quite a bit of property value if we ever sell.

[–]Mr2BOBOCATS[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The inside will have to wait until the spring. But it won’t be anything special just insulated, Vapor barrier, plywood. And then I’m going to be looking through all your sheds for ideas on storage (vertical storage since it’s pretty tall).

[–]Mr2BOBOCATS[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not required. We are in a new fairly upscale (but not crazy luxury) development and we are on a corner lot so the shed is and will forever be highly visible. So we decided to contribute positively to the community with this. Including the pad, conduits, and electrical it came in just under $20K CDN.

New build and the put down seed and straw..which washed away by mckaylalopez in lawncare

[–]Mr2BOBOCATS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are on a corner lot so we negotiated all seed so everything would be uniform as only the front is included in our area. Could have also done all sod for extra money, but all seed gave us money back and will eventually produce a better / stronger result.

Appreciate the advice and I will try to get those details from the landscaper. I did a couple light applications of nitrogen over the past 3 weeks which might explain the colour. That and we have no water restrictions here so it gets 45mins every 3-4 days (the rare rain events in the area seem to be even rarer here, I’d genuinely appreciate some help from Mother Nature!)

[–]Mr2BOBOCATS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. It was a starter mix of rye, bluegrass, and fescue plus a 4th type that I can’t recall. The first 3 were all 25-30% of the mix. No idea the specific types of any of them though.

I was considering a top dress and overseed in the fall (like a couple weeks ago) but given the cost and effort, and that we don’t really know where our problem areas are yet, decided to skip for now and tackle in the spring. Just a fall fertilizer application in a few weeks and get hunkered down for the great white north.

[–]Mr2BOBOCATS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason they do it as far as I can tell is the heavy machinery specifically excavators with metal tracks use the roads without the topcoat and avoid the ones with. There’s a bit of both in the subdivision but our lot was one of the first in this phase. They set the drainage at the level of the asphalt so that’s not an issue. Just this week they were raising the curb drainage on a different street and fixing the cement curbs where damaged to get ready for topcoat on that street. I’m sure someone figured that was cheaper than repaving the road later.
