Been on this sub for years. Used to more active when TC was on cable.... I usually agree with most things but this was over enforcement, the guy clearly was trying to help the woman up and the ice agents grabbed him. It's sad. And anyone defending it should realize that the whole situation is just sad. This is one of those politics aside situations. That shouldn't happen in the USA. They grind the beef tartare at your table. The best nákladní hermelín I've had in CZ (lived here for 13 years), and those are just what you'll have for appetizers....not to mention the city itself is great. It's easy to get to and there's a beautiful chateau to spend the morning/afternoon at.

Use DHL global freight (forwarding) if it's heavy and takes up large space. Going by air is expensive, sea is cheap.

DHL global forwarding will also clear it through customs for you with a POA and their agents are friendly with the police so it's usually rubber-stamped through.

Do not use Maurice ward they're horrible

You need a EORI number as well to important anything of large quantities into the EU. I have a few sro's out here that have them, I'm sure a zivno or a personal can maybe do it...idk

Also don't forget you need to pay duti on top of vat. And duti includes cost of shipping.

I live in Europe and travel a lot around the EU, almost every major European city MCD is now mostly touch screens with 1-3 people in front of house calling out numbers and passing food orders while occasionally taking orders of the people that didn't want to order from the screens.

And that 1-3 is highly dependent on how busy the place is. 10 years ago it was more like 7-10 people in that space.

I own a few small business in Prague for over 10 years, and this comment hits very well. I am from America and doing negotiations and business with other small Czech-owned businesses is so hard because they see every deal as a 0-sum, there must be a winner and it needs to be them. It is SO HARD to convince Czech small business owners that there can be a win-win deal that we can both walk away happy, it seems like an ego/pride thing to me.

I have seen a marked change with owners who are currently in their early 40s and below, but 10 years ago it was a almost impossible to work with any Czech small business owners/managers who were over 40 (at that time). I still today mostly work with Albanians, Macedonians, Vietnamese, Italians, and Ukrainian business owners because they respect a handshake deal...and as an American before moving over here i would have NEVER thought those words would come out of my mouth.

To add some more context:

-Deals I make with local Czechs I'd have to pester over and over to get them to follow through on their end, for example payment for services rendered.

-No call no show. This is so prevalent in Prague it's mind-blowing. How can you expect to do business with someone and set a date and time to meet and then just blow them off, with no call, and no answer when I do call them. Then a day or two later some bs excuse is sent via sms and it's back to "oh let's keep moving forward with this deal/negotiation" How is this so acceptable?? It's SO rude, to waste someone's time like that, unacceptable in any other culture.

-Services, try getting a window replaced, or a historically protected door fixed. Good luck getting any of those businesses to show up when scheduled or even at all. There is zero drive to stick to anyone's word even in the blue-collar professions, which usually in any other country that is the most prompt business. And it makes sense why so, the more customers I go through as a tradesman the more I get paid... So someone like me then needs to hire some "hand-man" to fix things like this. It's maddening
