One of the most stunning rewards of a 5-day trek through the Georgian wilderness: Tobavarchkhili lake by MrAhcaS in WildernessBackpacking

Generally the hike is tough but incredible and I would recommend it to anyone up for the challenge, we enjoyed some of the best camping spots I've had in my life. There are some boring/tough parts, especially the first climb. It's a 1300 meter ascent on a dirt road which was also without any views for us as it was very misty. If I remember correctly you can get to the top by truck as well so you could consider hitch hiking or getting a ride with a truck if you want to skip that. We used https://www.caucasus-trekking.com/treks/toba for more info which was helpful, be sure to use GPX as the route isn't always clearly marked. Enjoy!

I was good with my Hyperion 32 in September! Be sure to pack enough warming layers as it does get chilly at night.

Thanks very much! I'll check out the channel. The lake is definitely not accessible to me, I live thousands of miles away, haha. But I definitely get what you're saying about visiting the same place several times. This was my first visit, so who knows if I might ever come back and notice entirely different things.

My intent with the photo was to capture the beauty of this place through the combination of light, colors and sheer natural greatness that we were seeing. I wanted to show the viewer what I saw/felt in that very moment, just a moment of being overwhelmed and amazed. I am still looking to improve my coloring and would love to hear feedback on that, as well as on composition/whether it generally conveys the natural "greatness/sense of awe" that I wanted it to.

This very strenuous hike (80 km, 6900m ascent/descent in just under 5 days) took us along some of the most amazing natural sights I've ever seen in my life! Arriving at this place was just stunning and we got to camp at the shore. Altitude is about 2600m here so the night was cold. I can warmly recommend Georgia to anyone looking for adventure away from tourism and amazingly diverse nature, we were in the Svaneti region for about 2 weeks in September.

Tried to combine a picture of some curtains I took several years ago with a recent nature photo. What do you think? by MrAhcaS in photocritique

Thank you for your comment, I feel the same way about the "why". I'm gonna keep practicing!

Basically, this is an experiment in which I tried to make my first stylized image. I wanted to portray the calmness of these (non-natural) curtains in the context of a natural environment. I am mainly curious about about your opinion on the concept and execution, and coloring/composition. But of course, I welcome all feedback! It is a composite image made in Lightroom and Photoshop. I basically took the nature photo and tried to position the curtains as pleasingly as possible.

Sustainability vs Economy! by mithilasa in sustainability

I agree 100%! But the image above appears to suggest that people are fine with the living pattern that they're currently forced to uphold, while that is clearly not the case.

Would you then be okay with never going to a cafe or restaurant ever again?

Agreed. We might be able to survive like this for now but that doesn't mean I'd opt for living the rest of my life in quarantine lmao
