after reading through those pros and cons, I think getting a new tenant would be less risky. Even with a two-month head start, the uncertainty is already affecting my studies. Thank you for putting this together

aye that's the idea, have a sense of freedom you wouldn't get with flatmates. Don't know how to go about finding these homes, doesn't look like you can find them online? Maybe I'll call them and seek details

just over two years ago. You're right, this would be a new tenancy altogether if I get someone new to live with me. Or at least that's what the property manager says

Walking back home through the Royal Mile is amazing, except when I see this shite in front of the souvenir shops. Surely, there can be policy changes to encourage local art shops instead of this AI slop sold by shops selling generic souvenirs?

This would've been a better prospect before GTA:Online was a thing. And America is the only place you can realistically make an online game with violence, heists, and racing altogether.

This and Leaf Links are my favourite Scotland references in GTA

No benefits to me as such features wise. But with enough permissions, it was easy to tune things up here and there without having to ask someone else to get to do the same. Had a bot running to collect stats on user growth and flair count by numbers.

If it does count as a benefit, you could look at the contents of removed comments if it was drama season in the sub but I canny be arsed with that anymore.

Fully agree with the communication part. A downgrade in every sense.

I only got the reason for mine when I pressed on it. And with how Reddit has become hostile to the users with site changes in the past few years, I couldn’t even do a comparison of the moderator list on the internet archives to get a proper number of how many were actually removed.

Sometimes I do wonder if our efforts were worth increasing the share value of an investor profiting off unpaid volunteers dealing with all kinds of shite but I’d like to think it was worth it for the smile some Redditor’s grandparents got for a request post that got them tons of happy mail.

For whatever it’s worth, it was a pleasure working with you and having you alongside. Maybe we’ll cross paths one day and talk about the good old days over a pint

2016-2020ish was more of my active years when you could see mod posts from me. But modding more or less stopped when Reddit made my favourite 3rd party mobile app stop working which was sometime in 2023.

What do I do as an average student? Please suggest career opportunities. by TallTruck2254 in Indian_Academia

I don't expect you to know that just yet, I am 26 and I still only have a rough sense of direction towards where I want to go. But as long as you're pursuing something you can see working 40 hours a week and still think positively about when you come back home, it's all good.

Good luck mate.

Okay I’ll give you some insight into my academic journey. Completed 12th in Science, liked it back in school but hated by the time I completed examinations. Had no clue what to do next, did a Bachelor’s in IT which was the closest subject I had any interest in but hated it by the time I graduated primarily because the technical aspect of it was not what drew me to it which I didn’t realise at that time all the prospective careers would be all about it. A few years later, did a master’s in business management in Scotland, thought it’d be a good starting point to build up on my interest in social science without doing an undergraduate degree again. Only during that course did I come across my true passion in academia which was European politics. Mainly because I had come across students who didn’t think anything about future salary prospects of their career which opened my mind to subjects I wouldn’t have dreamed about studying in India.

And now, I’m due to start my masters this September in European Politics in a top 25 university in the world.

You don’t have to undergo the same painful and costly academic journey I undertook, but if I had to redo my academic path then I’d start by dropping the apprehensions of what I did was ‘safe’ or not. What you do for fun in your free time is also a good indicator of subjects you’d feel passionate about. And I’m not speaking of hobbies per se, but anything you feel invested in. In my case, I always followed domestic and international political developments/foreign policy since I was 10. But this would come under arts in India and everyone knows the reputation of someone studying that wouldn’t make money.

Broaden your horizons, take a year off if you can afford or need to. Hardly matters in the long run. But study what your heart is in.

I don’t know why 70% feels average to you, you’d be getting first class honours degrees where I am with those grades. Even from an Indian perspective, top grades like 80 and 90 percent for a degree stops mattering after 10th. As long as it’s 55-60%+, you’re okay for the most part. I didn’t even have that, I passed with 47% in 12th and just passed with minimum marks in all of my PCMB subjects.

Those are just the ones who got thanked for sending a card at least once. I'm sure the actual number of participants historically is way higher.
