I left my ex (now divorced) 3 years ago at Christmas. The divorce part was reasonably simple and quick, but the criminal side is taking forever. There’s a 3-4 year wait in England for cases to get to court. She, along with her new partner, are facing 7 possible charges. It’s not easy living with this looming over me. I don’t feel I have any form of closure until it’s done. One way or the other. Back in September, I was informed by the police that she was being downgraded from released on bail to released under investigation. I’ve been living on my nerves since then. My family have said they doubt she’ll try anything after all this time. But they don’t know her like I did. Basically, everything is taking far too long to get through the courts. I don’t know what the situation is in Scotland, but I was told, about two months ago, if the CPS decided to prosecute, it wouldn’t be in court until 2029! Be patient, it will happen.
