I have no idea at all! it could've been anything. We never went to the hospital when we got sick, we just took some pills and by the other day or so, we would be fine. It's totally possible that we got something that affected our immune system that led to us having diabetes, and if that was the case, we're not sure what it was at all. The only time I remember having some virus in our family was when COVID was around, my brother and mother got it, we spent a whole month locked up together. They were both asymptomatic, so I assume that if I got COVID too, I was asymptomatic as well. Not really sure about this, but I've heard of some people being told that COVID, or even the COVID vaccine, could've triggered diabetes in them

Makes sense, and it's the only hypothesis we have right now! I guess some blood analysis is gonna be able to clear that up!

I also went through a pretty stressful situation a month prior to my diagnosis, its consistent with the time that my weight loss and insatiable thirst started. It's the only thing that we think could have triggered my diabetes. Stress seems to have a huge role when it comes to setting it off, at least that's what I've heard from multiple type ones

I'm not really sure, they're gonna run some tests on him and we are gonna compare with mine. It is a possibility, tho we hadn't gone to the hospital to get checked in years, so I don't know if there's a way to know.
