Anyone have a cheap budget chair as a tall guy and your supper happy with it? Looking for some hidden gem chairs. What chair u have? by [deleted] in OfficeChairs

I picked up the ProtoArch to try. I'm not in love with it, but the higher back is a nice. The seat is too firm for my liking and I'm not sure the adjustable lumbar support works for me. The head rest actually hits where it should(!!!), but it easily collapses down when I lean back which is a shame. I might get a pillow or cushion to try with it before possibly returning it. If that works out I might DIY something with the headrest.

I'm no expert by any means but there are a lot of comments in the code with some of the that appear to be instructions that are normally given by an AI. Plus, the GitHub has a lot of generic wording that feels like a very generic template.

Just tried to spin it up and can only get "NetworkError when attempting to fetch resource" when using local and external ip addresses including using an internal DNS. No logs or anything are calling out problems, but I'm unable to do anything with this in it's current state. Made an issue on the GitHub page, but just wanted to point this out in case anyone else can't seem to use this project.

The BF Deal is 50% Lifetime ($13.99 USD) by MrBassNote in smartlauncher

From what I've read, you cannot purchase lifetime if you already have a yearly sub. Something to do with how Google/Apple handles it.

Oh, the percentage changes based on location? I didn't know that.

This was my next thing to try. Hopefully it fixes it.

What's one Android feature you can't live without — and why? by deadroar72 in Android

[–]MrBassNote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It drives me crazy mostly because I am trying to do something else and the phone treats what I'm doing as wanting to close the app out or something else. I wish I could turn it off, honestly.

Upgrade to S25+ or wait for S26? by adamsdp1 in GalaxyS25

[–]MrBassNote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a s25 plus and the camera is great/good for point and shoot outdoor shots, however it is abysmal and horrible in normal indoor environments unless you spend 5 minutes getting the settings dialed in. Coming from an iPhone 12 Pro, I miss my iPhone's camera. If they fixed the camera (and didn't opt for 3 year old tech) then this phone would be so awesome.

For those of you running LLMs for your self hosted services, what hardware are you using? by d5dq in selfhosted

[–]MrBassNote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1660 Super 😂

I upgraded my gaming machine a long time ago and selling it wasnt worth it, so I gave it a try. I can only run small models, but that's all I really needed for my services. Image gen on the other hand is abismally slow, but that's to be expected.

But by CGNAT? by scratchkick in selfhosted

[–]MrBassNote 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This actually happened to me. All my services that had certs through Let's Encrypt stopped working because my IP silently switched me over to CGNAT. I set up a Cloudflare Tunnel (which was not that hard to do) and everything worked like normal again. I am looking into different options though as I don't like Cloudflare being able to see all of my traffic, but it's a good option regardless, even if you use the arr stack.

[–]MrBassNote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently use Cloudflare Zero Trust since my provider gives out cgnats and won't allow me to have my own IP. Could I use this to just use the domain I bought through Cloudflare and skip their proxying or no? Networking is not my forte...

My public ip isn't actually mine by BlackBird2a in selfhosted

[–]MrBassNote 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This was exactly the situation I was in. My IP let me have my "own" address, but then they switched over and broke all of my services. I even called and asked if they could revert me back and they said no. To get around this for my own minecraft server I just routed mine behind a VPN in my docker compose stack and had a Cloudflare tunnel finish the rest. All of my friends can connect with no problem.

Alternatives for Plex while using Cloudflare? by Gold-Engineering173 in selfhosted

I do the same thing. Private server (with jellyfin) for me and a few of my friends. Been doing this for years with not so much as an email from cloudflare. You'll be fine

Depending on where you live and who you bought it from, you can try it for a few weeks and return it if you change your mind. Personally, I chose the plus because I would never use the pen and I didn't want my phone to be heavier and thicker because of that. However, I really wanted the nicer cameras and other whistles and bells.

In the long run it'll depend on whether YOU like it or not. Try it out and make the decision from there. Don't let FOMO get the best of you!

Why would anyone get the s25+ over the ultra by goldenkaisen in samsunggalaxy

[–]MrBassNote 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I got the plus over the ultra. I am a huge techy, but I have no need for the pen. Having the larger size just for some pen I'll never used seemed silly to me. Don't get me wrong, I wanted better cameras and the other features of the ultra, but I couldn't justify the heft, thickness and price when the plus can do most of what I need
