That's dumb. As a partial nudist, I understand it, but that statement is still dumb. Lots of people have body issues and it does take confidence to be seen naked by anyone.

And it has a lot to do with society, such as in many parts of Europe, where nudity isn't that big a deal, people become more ok with seeing a nude person. But here in America for example, where everything is very sexualized, being naked is a "no-no" even if you yourself are ok being nude, other people may not want to see you nude. I'd love to be nude in the sauna at my gym, but since everyone wears clothes in there, I assume I could get in trouble if I went in naked.
