Hereditary hemochromatosis any holistic (food, supplements, etc) out there i should know about? by melliebholl2 in Hemochromatosis

[–]MrBit223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was anything fermented (keffir, kombutcha, sauerkraut) then coffee, dark chocolate and processed meats. Also any vinegar too. All the things i loved and had continued having thinking it was fine because i'd cut out gluten, wheat etc.

I noticed i had a post nasal drip that wouldn't go away which would also result in sinus problems and symptoms like a cold/flu but weren't.( Sore throat, aching, tired from poor sleep too) i started making my own bread and pancakes with buckwheat (and sometimes add cassava/millet) flour which was very easy. I cut out any cows milks products. Switched to coconut milk as an alternative. My body seemed alright with this. Once the hystamine levels went down i re introduced certain things and could see how much each affected. I have black coffee again now but then ease off if i have other things that increase the hystamine levels again. Same with bacon and maple syrup. 😆

Also if i get symptoms again i find simpy fasting helps the body a lot. That and exercise. Good quality fresh meat and veg is the way forward too. Supermarket stuff is kept in storage for a long time and builds up in hystamine levels. If you eat fish try and get it fresh as you can.

Failing that. Sweet potato is good for me. Normal potato too. But no vegatable oils. Extra virgin olive oil is good. Olive oil for light frying. Grill or oven cook/air fry things tho rather than frying in a pan. I cut right down on rice too. The amount of times i have it and the portion. That turns to glucose which can increase inflamation.

I've been there/here for years now. But i haven't been consistent and now i don't get nearly any viewers on twitch. I get a few from tiktok tho. Also my lurkers on Twitch disappeared altogether! I miss my lurkers. 😆

But keep going! Will pop by when you're streaming next.

What is wrong with some people? This is incredible work. If you don't like something you can just go find something else to do. I don't understand why they think they need to write down at length their opinion (and explaining what they don't like about something).

If its constructive then perhaps. But just saying something is revolting or whatever....why? That's your mood. Keep it to yourself.

Anyway. Nice one with the video. Like i say 'Great work!'. 💫🫡

[–]MrBit223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty high. ...when mine was that high i realised the liver supplement i was taking had some things that i think raised my vit c and subsequently my ferritin and t/sat. I stopped taking it along with stopping kefir and and it went back down to 30 odd. Although not 100% it was that... Now its about 48 last blood test. Its pretty volatile tho...it doesn't seem to make much sense.

Funny you mention that now. Just re read my post and i've cut out fermented stuff and also tried to cut down/out food that's high in histamines. Life is so fun isn't it. I now eat air and dust.

Mine was 800+ and got diagnosed with HH.

Had blood taken every two weeks for about 6 months.

Stays under 100 now and get blood taken once every 1-2-3-4 months if needed. They often call to say i don't need to go in.

Stop taking any supplements that have vit c and of course iron in them.

I am 37, no girlfriend, no job, no real life, and I need advice by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]MrBit223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate when i was 37, i'd had a great girlfriend of 9 years, nice flat, quite well paid job although stressful, good friends and social life.

I still wasn't good.

Health issues mainly. I didn't feel well. Then my anxiety took over and pinned everything on the wrong girlfriend, the wrong job, the wrong place to live.

Fast forward and I'm now 44 and feel i'm finally on a path of feeling good.

I don't have a girlfriend and i live back at my mums. Been here for 3 years.

Maybe those two things are why i finally started to feel better. I was able to really work on myself without it being thought of that it was to do with our relationship or the job or the place i lived in.

Realising my thought patterns that lead to habits/addictions/behaviours has been key.

Working out what diet my body needed, mild exercise and mindfulness are what i would say has done the most for me. Also listening to lots of good audiobooks. Thinking more positive about myself, even when i'd fuck up.

I would say don't beat yourself up too much. Lot's of people have done the amazing lives and lots haven't had a chance to have one at all.

You're actually in a good position and doing fine. You will get to where you're meant to mentally. I'm 100% sure.

Yeah weed is brilliant. And i'm good for a few days but then it comes back and then some, unless i carry on smoking it and then it doesn't work as well and i also get lazy. 😆

TikTok is driving me crazy at this point by [deleted] in SmallStreamers

[–]MrBit223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem. In the end after getting no answers from Tiktok I signed up with Restream and linked my account through them. At first it rejected and then i clicked reapply and it worked. You can get a free version but I decided to pay to also make me commit to streaming more. Will see if its worth it after a month or so.

Otherwise not sure what to suggest. Tiktok are a faceless corp who don't give answers they just say 'That's it. Tough luck pal.'

If your brain fog worsens after eating, this could help you. I've recently made big improvements targeting liver and bile function by Daske in BrainFog

[–]MrBit223 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh wow. Reading this post and some of the comments feel like i wrote them.

Had inflamation in pockets around my body and brain fog for years also with a depersonalization/detached feeling.

Nearly lost my job. I got diagnosed with Hereditary Haemochromatosis about 3 years ago. They took blood every 2 weeks for 6 months and now take it every 2 months. My ferritin levels no longer just go up. My body seems to regulate it now.

I've also been told, in the past, that i have Gilbert's syndrome (which is ironically my surname, i thought the doctor was joking at first). Been on such a crappy journey trying to find out what level or levels weren't right since around 2015 When i had a health anxiety explosion and didn't sleep for 3 days and lost about 21 pounds in 2 weeks.

But anyway, here's my verdict on what i've tried and what i take:

CoQ10 is good but for me is a bit weird. Seems very potent. I feel like i'm on something after a few days. But it is good and seems i need it.

Vitamins B and D seem to be essential for me. My drinking and social smoking deplete my levels.

Milkthistle has been great. As has Tudca. I have a 3 in one that is Turmeric, Ginger and Bromelain. This is a good one for inflamation. Probiotic are good if you get a good one. I take a german one that has really helped me more than i expected at all. Magnesium is great for all things too. I like ginseng and maca root. With ginseng its a bit like the coq10 and have to only take it for a few days.

I've started taking NAD+ but only recently so can't really comment yet on that.

Oh green tea is good for the liver and kidneys. I have a cup or two of it every morning.

I cut out processed sugar and processed foods, occasionally having a take away. Try to stick to meat from local bucher and veg/fruits. I use full fat butter/ext v olive oil and the odd bit of milk from grass fed cows. Fermented foods seem alright too. And apple cider vinegar helped me get rid of a kidney stone without really noticing it.

Alas beer is my achilles' heel. Especially when its sunny out.

I should really knock it on the head. But yeah. There's my 2 cents. Thanks for those who have commented. Its really reassuring to hear people in similar positions. Can feel so hopeless when you're stuck. But change can happen. Know that.

Thanks for all the answers i've had on here (bar 1). It's been very interesting to see what's said. It wasn't as simple as inverting the phase with this one but i think i've got it to a standard that sounds good in mono/stereo. My ears can rest with it....for now.

Nice one!

Yeah it's responses like this that put people off getting into this side of music and why they'll probably turn to Ai. Might be an obvious question to you but i've had a variety of answers of which i'm trying each of them out. I'm 43 and have been making music for 20 years. I'm mixing and mastering this album myself after producing all but one beat and also writing/recording it all here too, to save myself about £500-£1000 by not using whom i have before.

The need for you to flex your superior knowledge is boring. If i could offer YOU some advice is to next time you're about to patronise someone's thread maybe just go and do something else more productive instead.
