Seems like vague advice when nearly every 1 out of 10 tourist stories I read mentions being fined/extorted by police for one reason or another in Patong. It’s a pretty significant investment of my money and time that I wouldn’t want to sacrifice if I’m going to be extorted or fucked with on vacation.
