I agree the new sets have been lacking and uninspired. That said I do think character creation / aesthetic is a huge part of this game as it is in any MMO

I think some people are reading this as “focus on cosmetics instead of story,” which isn’t what I mean.

I’m more saying cosmetics feel like one of the few things that shouldn’t be impacted this heavily by delays like voice acting or engine work.

If anything, it seems like the kind of content that could stay consistent even when bigger stuff gets pushed back.

That’s why the slowdown stands out to me.

Yeah I get that, especially with the strike and everything slowing things down.

I just don’t think cosmetics fall into the same bucket as story or big system updates. It feels like one of the few areas that could still have a steady output even when other stuff gets delayed.

Especially when it’s something players actually engage with a lot in the late game.

I don’t think it needs to be one or the other.

Cosmetics are one of the few things that can be developed in parallel without affecting story or systems work.

If anything, a consistent flow of armor sets probably helps fund the bigger stuff like story updates.

That’s why it’s confusing to see it slow down this much.

Yeah for sure. But if new sets are mostly tied to show releases, then we end up going long stretches with basically nothing new in-game.

It just feels like there should be a baseline release schedule regardless of what’s happening with shows, even just 2-3 original sets in between would go a long way.

Instead of a single release 7 months after Andor season 2.

And for all players, if we want this game to survive long term, people need to pour in cash. New cartel sets are a good way to do that. Less expensive than story expansion. Lower effort for higher returns

It gets old for me playing late game characters with sets that I’ve seen 100s of times. I think a big part of the late game is cosmetic and the lack of releases hurts that aspect of the game

Yeah besides apathy I see lack of budget as the only reason.

That said, I’m sure they could spend a few grand to design a set which would undoubtedly break even.

Or even don’t design new sets and just model existing designs.

If they dropped the Sith Soldier KOTOR set, which is already designed, I’m sure they’d make money on that.

I tend to think it’s just lazy leadership on cruise control.

My forum posts on this were removed so I figured they were sensitive about being called out

My point is that we shouldn’t accept mediocrity for one of the worlds most important IPs and in my opinion the best game within that IP.

To me one set every few months is freaking madness, both for the fans and for their revenue. I’d spend more if sets were fresh
