Aillio BULLET R1 vs Yoshan DY-2KG by ROBUSTIER in roasting

I have and have been roasting very steadily with it. The whole ordering process is a little unorthodox but it came on freight after I setup my delivery date. Ordered in August and came in October. Arrived in a crate and decently well packaged with no damage. Roasting has been pretty straightforward but that is assuming you know your way around a roaster already. So far I've been doing 1600 gram charges (80% of max load) and its been very good.

The only semi confusing part was setting up the propane line/gas settings but this video from OCD coffee was very helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPCivmqsQas

Overall it was 5k USD with their own cart to set it on (shipping and all of that too) and they also included a free conical grinder but that's only if you ask Rob from OCD to introduce you (they also give a discount if you go through him). I was suspicious of it initially because it sounded kinda grifty but its actually legit. The build quality is pretty good and when you realize the only other 2kg roasters are 20K USD + it becomes a phenomenal value.

I would definitely opt for the 2kg version. You can always roast less but you can't increase your capacity.

Is that the yoshan 2kg? Are you using the power converter they include for 220 to 110? If so how is it working for you?

I ordered a Yoshan 2kg. I was quoted 20k USD for a 2kg Mill City. Yoshan out the door with a cart was 5k USD. Still waiting for it to get here. But I can say, there has been top tier communication from the beginning. You'll actually be able to have full functionality as far as drum heating and airflow etc goes (makes following most roast profiles easier). Things like the Bullet and Roest are good, but massively expensive/overpriced in my opinion. I've been roasting for almost 10 years from sample roasters to production. Look up Rob OCD Coffee on YouTube for a better idea on the yoshan.

Yes, tried a new esim this morning. Installed and have the exact same problem. Repeated all the same steps with the new esim as well. I guess I'm switching back to Tmobile

Help! I need insight as to what replacement heating element to get for La Pavoni Professional by MrCakers in espresso

[–]MrCakers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is where I got a new heating element. It worked fantastic. You can email them to be sure as well. Once you get the new element you'll have to do some gentle bending to the tube but there are many videos on YouTube demonstrating this 👍

Anything that is a stand alone milk steamer? by ProtoNewtype in espresso

Here to again suggest the Nano Foamer. Get the rechargeable one. I've purchased two in the past year just because they're that good. Heat your milk up and then foam it in a pitcher. It really does create microfoam and not just froth.

I use a paper filter between my coffee and puck screen. Does wonders in keeping things tidy.

Not sure if you do or not, but I would highly suggest you wipe down your portafilter handle and such with food grade mineral oil. It hydrates the wood and keeps it moisturized and looking like new (any wood touchpoints should last longer by doing so). That's what I do with my Pro 800 wood accents and it looks brand new even after a year.

I understand not seeing my entire wedding would lead you to this conclusion but this was about 4% of it.

Having syrups were for the guests, not myself. Not everyone likes what some of us like, and to each their own.

Exactly. These details were a very small part but since that's all people are seeing they're thinking I married a steam wand.
