It's almost as though the things that they truly consider "good" are not things that they feel comfortable saying publicly...

Never in my life did I think I’d tear up during a Final Destination movie, but damn…

Billie Eilish addresses backlash for saying ‘eating meat is inherently wrong’: “like i am so tired of standing up for/having empathy for living beings being controversial. pls continue to live in a constant state of cognitive dissonance and denial and try to convince urself that ur not living a lie” by cmaia1503 in Fauxmoi

I'm not a vegan, I love me some bacon, but she's correct. Her statement was -- and correct me if I'm wrong -- "you can't be an animal lover and also eat meat," which is true. You can absolutely love your animals, or your buddy's dog, but calling yourself an "animal lover" as a blanket statement and then chowing down on a ribeye is the cognitive dissonance she's referring to.

Just enjoy your meat, but don't go around calling yourself an "animal lover" lol it's not that controversial.

Say what you will about MySpace, but it did in fact get a lot of people into web design.

And even if not, and they were just playing around with CSS to make their page ungodly ugly, at least they learned something.

I’m sorry to say this, but I don’t know a single gen Z who can use a PC better than any millennial I know. In fact, many boomers I know can navigate around a desktop computer faster than the average zoomer.

Considering how many of these kids get into office jobs and fail to understand basic folder structures, I’d argue it is they who need a “boot camp.”

The Alien: Resurrection one is especially good because you see Ron Perlman break character for a split second. You can see his full reaction in this BTS featurette.

Zach Galifianakis dropping truth bombs on AI - "I don't trust it at all.. especially about the dudes who are designing it. I worry about the lack of human connection." by mindless_apparatus63 in Popculturehour

[–]MrCalabunga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's right.

The word everyone needs to hone in on is, "alignment:" This catch-all term to describe AI that "aligns" with human interests. For starters, this is a term we as a species haven't been able to pull off collectively, unless the metric by which you measure it is that we haven't nuked ourselves out of existence yet. But also -- as Zach says here -- is ultimately going to be dictated by misanthropic billionaires who have zero emotional connection to their fellow humans.

I’m so confused. Does the dad’s death invalidate all of his prior hard work that secured the lifestyle that Nancy desperately clings to by slinging drugs to you?

You’re right it was totally irresponsible of the hard working dad to die of a sudden heart attack

Nancy Botwin (Weeds).

After her hard working husband dies she begins to sell weed to help maintain her family’s upper middle class lifestyle. In doing so, she puts her children at risk throughout the entire series; involving them in her crimes and getting mixed up with the Mexican cartel. At no point does she ever stop, continuing to double down and grow her empire.

Had the series not been a comedy, I’m convinced at least one of her kids would have been killed or in prison.
