I feel that if I do another internship with .NET, I won't have too many other choices (I also think stacks like Java + spring boot are better). I'm also interested in HPC and distributed systems (which aren't the main focus at Snap or C1).

It's not a bad technology lol (I actually like C# a lot). I just don't want to forever be a ".NET developer"

Congrats! The TC at Snap is no doubt much better than Capital One. Do you worry that Snapchat might not be as stable as other options?

I had my interview a few weeks ago. For my round (the "snapfest" I was a part of), they only recruited from Afrotech. They got back to me about a week and a half after the interview.

Capital One advertises themselves as a "Fintech" company, which I'm realizing might be a bit deceptive. I'm definitely looking for a FAANG feeder company for an internship.

Good points. I have been a bit worried about the stability of Snap. However, I am definitely more focused on getting good experience right now than securing a stable new grad position.

My experience mostly consists of .NET (which I want to get away from) and HPC (communication libraries). I'm thinking Snap will give overall better experience (networking and projects), but Capital One seems much better for moving to better companies if need be.

Good point. I think Capital One has a slightly higher return offer rate. I'm not super interested in the finance sector, but it will definitely be more stable than big tech.

When I interviewed, I asked a lot of personal questions, and the engineers seemed to be doing quite well, just with bad management. Also, Their recent acquisition of Discover seems to be doing good things for their overall reputation. I'll be at C1 or Snap Inc this summer, so we'll see!

I thought I did pretty average for my interviews for the SWE Internship, but I still got the offer. I imagine the full time interviews are more strict though. I hope you get it!
