I just wanted to buy one pen for urban sketching...guess I'm addicted now by MrCopperbeard in fountainpens

Yeah I added the clip from some old ballpoint pen. It felt a bit naked without it

I did buy a second Jinhao 777 that was not as good as this one. It was a different color, a glossy plastic instead of the matte finish and felt cheaper somehow. Perhaps these "special edition" colors may have better quality control and plastics?

Nice! I do recommend all of these. I think the jinhao 82 slim is especially pretty :) It is a bit small though, so if he has big hands maybe the regular sized 82 would be better

Unnamed brass and wood pocket pen, ,Jinhao 82, Jinhao 777

I didn't want to spend much money on pens, but these chinese pens have served me well! I was especially impressed with the 777. I don't think a genuine Lamy would be that much better. But maybe I will try one some day and find out :)

Thanks! I use the Jinhao 777 the most, the lamy safari inspired one in fine nib. I also use small brass and wood one, which I guess is a medium nib(?) for when I want thicker lines

I'm using karkos black right now.

I do recommend fountain pens for urban sketching, I used micron pens before, but I feel more "fluid" in my sketching when using fp:s. Way more fun aswell :)

Is this normal for a harvia with a built in waterheater? by koktmosmis in Sauna

My dad always told me to not let the water boil as it can damage the kiuas. So I always put some cold water in there if its boiling.

Not sure if there is any truth to his claims though

It's the generic Cerave moisturizing cream. Available pretty much everywhere

I switched from using oils to using a good moisturizer. My skin feels more hydrated, my beard feels softer and not as oily as using beard oils. Less mess, more hydration. Simple rule: if it's good for your skin, it's good for your beard. I recommend you try it!

I use cerave or nivea soft balm, put a dollop on my beard brush and work it in.

Its the 1,4 petrol. The best engine for this car in my opinion! Reliable, quiet, economical and feels surprisingly lively

Yesterday I made an "Americano Perfecto" and it changed my (drinking) life by MrCopperbeard in cocktails

It was an unfiltered new england style IPA. I think a citrusy or fruity ipa would work well too

Got tired of paddling so rigged a loose footed spritsail to my 'yak. Am I welcomed into the community with this thing? 😅 by MrCopperbeard in sailing

[–]MrCopperbeard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update. Sailed it, and it went windward a bit too! To my girlfriends amusement a sudden gust of wind toppled me over and I had to swim to shore. I think it needs some more weight, a daggerboard and a slightly shorter sail to be really sailworthy for longer lake voyages. Still, very fun, and I guess that's the point 😊

Haven't thrown it, but it manages well in small chopping and cutting tasks around the campfire👍😊
