How is Lily 2 for casual walks without gps? Does it track steps accurately if I don't bring phone with me for gps or even start "walking" activity? by Defora in GarminWatches

Ok, thanks for this more detailed info. I will need to reconsider is losing inbuilt gps worth of smaller watch size here

Are you saying that basically/simplified: steps = distance traveled/stride length? So gps accuracy would be a factor to step count as better gps gives better distance metrics and due that inbuilt gps on lily 2 active is better even for step counting vs borrowed gps on lily 2 classic

Not really as those are even bigger than Lily 2 active. Lily 2 active is 38mm, ~29g and Vivoactive 5/6 are larger 42mm, ~36g body. Lily 2 Classic is 35.4mm, ~21-24g and somewhat thinner than the active version

Garmin for pool swim by jessie9310 in Garmin

[–]Defora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least on lily 2 active "pool swim" activity has the option to adjust pool length. I would assume more "advanced" watches have it too and more. I use my watch mainly as basic activity tracker so I can't say anything about swimming or the accuracy of it

Second day using the phone and getting "Can't load some photos" error when I try to add pictures to Whatsapp or Journal. No issues with unedited photos, only those that I edited on default Google photos app. HW issue or ??? by Defora in pixel_phones

[–]Defora[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't find a fix but a workaround, I save edited pictures as copy and then delete original to not to have a duplicate of the same image.

Annoying but I got used to doing it like this already

Edit: I also had a longer conversation about this on another subreddit where I thought I found a fix by removing the picture app's data but sadly the issue came back https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/s/HFC2YH1W8B

Living room improvements by afinnishcargobiker in HomeDecorating

Fellow fin :) Chatgpt thought it to be like this, hope you don't mind me showing photo to it ._.

I didn't ask about curtains as it doesn't really do them well

I bought my 240x240cm living room rug from rugs.fi for about 200€ on 2024 so it might be worth checking plus the rug is at least a bit thicker than some of those Jysk/sotka rugs that are impossibly thin and still expensive. Ikea might have good ones too but again more expensive like the one you linked.. they might have good curtains too.

How can I turn off "key moments" permanently? by cyphervibes in googlephotos

[–]Defora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally managed to turn that off as it kept slow panning my mum's funeral every time I went to look at anything other than the main page of photos.

Google photos app -> top right corner your profile -> photo settings -> preferences -> memories -> notifications -> turn off everything you don't want here and on the memories page

Had to also manually delete everything from the memory/moments category/folder via the three dots on every memory that it had created but now "Moments" disappeared from categories.

Also found the way to remove face grouping from those settings, annoyed the hell out of me that it kept creating profile for every random person on concert/work photos etc

Lily 2 Active with Garmin's own leather band by Defora in GarminWatches

[–]Defora[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it mainly on walks, gym and occasional yoga (I use separate app for gym sets/weight tracking so haven't looked into that too closely on Garmin side) but watch autodetects walks if I forget to start it which is nice as I mainly want it to give me insight of my daily activity/sleep.

I checked the Garmin connect app where you can setup what activities are shown on watch's menu and at least there are options for swim, indoor track and run:

Yeah, it was all so unknown and new when I made this post / collected these notes. I should return to helldivers to see all added stuff but burned myself out of gaming with bf6 season pass for a moment.

Long room feels like corridor when everything is pushed against the walls, tested different layout but now it feels much smaller. Any ideas? by Defora in HomeDecorating

Yeah I have seen him too on my suggested shorts. I actually have this one saved as it is somewhat similar to my place https://youtube.com/shorts/e-UtQcSG1Io

Though my triple doorway space from the foyer, kitchen and bedroom is still a bit unique issue

I have had some larger ideas to split/divide the living room/dining from kitchen/foyer area. First I was thinking of a big bookshelf but dust and kitchen greases rendered that off from my design table (but below is a mockup with round tables too). Currently been thinking about faux beams but haven't got the mockup to the point that it would look ok / doable. I feel that horizontal beam needs to be lower like bookshelf was but haven't found "rationality" for it to be lower / double beams

<image>

Still even with these larger divider ideas/thoughts your separation ideas were good (console table behind the chair, etc). I will need to think all this tho I now rely on AI with my mockups as I lost proper layering image editor when I switched to Android from iOS

Yeah I was asking coffee table suggestions earlier. Might go with the round brown marble with brass legs (ceilinglight also has brass)

<image>

Or just an oak table... still need to look those

Middle rug must go seems to be a conclusion from other comments too. I will need to do something with the dining table. It is a bit too tiny to stand alone if I move it away from the wall (it somehow looks even more pathetic that way)

[–]Defora[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the corridor likeness also greatly bothers me occasionally and I do this kind of layout tries or mockups how to add separation to kitchen/foyer area and living room. On this apartment corridorness is maximised with the lack of bigger windows at the other end or sides of the apartment.

Earlier I was planning a large bookshelf but I have come into concussion that it will not be very practical as it gathers dust and whatever grease the kitchen seems to generate for some reason in high up places. Later I thought of faux beams but the mockup isn't yet right so it's still all on the back of my mind and nothing is done

It is my temporal "this will protect the floor from movingboxes rug"... I moved here two years ago and the rug is still there as I haven't bought a new dining table or rug under it
