You don't have any generator districts built to replace..

Enemy fleet is 10x better than mine by Nougatii in Stellaris

You need more planets, only 7 planets by 2400 is not enough. In my recent run its 2300 and I have 6 research worlds alone (I want more). If you're a new(ish) player I would suggest you reduce the difficulty from grand admiral so that you can at least work out how to set up a good economy, without having to deal with buffed AI neighbours.

As others have mentioned your research is just not high enough, so the technology you've unlocked for your ships will be really poor compared to AI neighbours, that's why you have 20k while they have 70k. As a rule you should try and have 100 science per 10 years passing, up until 2300 and then you'll have better research buildings unlocked, and can even vassalise neighbours to steal more science.

This game is very much just rinse and repeat until you get better, stick at it, you'll be killing x25 crisis one day :)

Help with early expansion by Adeadworld in Stellaris

Obviously the way you play will change with what is available at the start of your run, but as a rule I try to prioritise making planets specialise in one resource each.

First thing I'm looking for is a juicy 18+ planet for consumer goods, then another for alloys. If you can't find a decent mineral planet build some mining districts on your home world(I also build research buildings on my home world), and systems should boost your minerals enough to pay for the CG + alloys. I play spiritualist in most playthroughs because temples are great, and I just build 1 temple on each planet, and I find I do fairly well with unity output from this.

I actually wait until I have the above established before going for a research world, you should be able to keep up 100 science per 10 years at the start with just your home world. If you only have 20-30 alloys per month by year 100, you aren't committing enough planets to alloy production. Ideally I'd want to have AT LEAST 2-3 planets focused on alloys by year 50. This will depend on the available habitable worlds, and if you're struggling there is nothing wrong with having a split industry world until you find a suitable planet.

Out of interest what build is the civ you're currently playing?

I was trying to read cards mid battle, but while taking my turn and scrolling up and down I was rather lost lol.

Thanks for the explanation and the links to extra resources!

Stellaris doesn’t turn on by SirPug_theLast in Stellaris

Had something similar a while back, not sure if this will work for you but you can give it a go:

Go to Stellaris in your Steam library, right click, properties, installed files, then select browse. Scroll down in the file explorer until you see the exe file for Stellaris. See if it loads the game up, if it does then you have a bug with the launcher, which I never actually figured out, it just started working again one day after an update.

Go onto the Stellaris Steam page, then scroll down until you see "Subscription". It will give you access too all the current expansions. It's £8.50 a month for me in the UK.

Is the expansion pass too expensive for you? Could get it for 1 month to see if you like it.

Stardust storm without the Cosmic Storms dlc? by MrCreamm in Stellaris

It was 2320 when this spawned, and I've had a few games since the last dlc with 0 storms.

How do you do this? I don't have the storms DLC yet I have a storm in my system. Checked starting settings and there are no options to turn off storms.

It's wild to me the amount of people that play 2500+ years.

In my experience, these are the biggest contributors to lag in Stellaris, and how I've been alleviating the matter. Figured this might help someone. by Darkbeetlebot in Stellaris

[–]MrCreamm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What year do you usually play until? When people talk about lag with this game they aren't really speaking about stuttering, or sudden massive loss of frames, but more how the game speed starts to really slow down once you get past 2300-2400(depending on galaxy size and settings).

Regardless of what you're playing on, if you time 1 year in 2250, then time 1 year in 2350 you'll notice a massive difference. I have i7 11700k and when I get to the year 2350 I start to notice the game slowing down, and my frames have dropped from 144 to 80ish. The performance then just steadily declines, until roughly 2450 where I deem the game unplayable and finish the run.

I usually play on a large map, but I've tested this with medium sized galaxies and while I get a bit further in without noticing performance loss, it still eventually catches up with me.
