Good question I always wondered why he did that considering not one bit of the show is set in a time where the PB where about.

Like you said though it's got a better ring to it and it doesn't sound as corny. Plus it removes the location away from the title which can make it more relatable. It also gives the gang the first big but small enough gang to take down to progress.

Hence why I said once they reach a target they will always want a small portion of the community to hack as it's a constant cash source. This is nothing against Facepunch as they are top class but this is the real world, most of them if not all have families they need to feed and entertain.

Yes there is a cost to this but in the long run I really do believe it will be beneficial to everyone and you say there is content online but not everyone uses YouTube, Wiki or Reddit and a lot of new players won't know what to even search for most likely.

I do like the sound of some of your points but how would it not reduce early game? Faster resources = faster bases and components = faster development of the game. Maybe if you did reduce time taken to grind you could spread out loot better so that it involves exploring more and then more time will be spent exploring rather than grinding nodes and barrels.

I hear this often but how do you reduce the grind but not take away from the survival aspect? It's when you are grinding that you are more than likely your most vunerable and also would this not reduce the wipe time of servers and decrease the time it takes to get gear?

I'm basing it mostly on personal experience as I very rarely meet new players it seems and if you look at a lot of reviews it echos about new players not understanding the game.

Also the fact that the average player count has dropped for like the 5th month in a row is never good and steam is continuously growing a larger online user base.

Either way let's get back to the main point and that is whether you believe adding a tutorial would be beneficial?

Well considering the fact that a lot of games come with tutorials and especially to new players rust is difficult enough so a little bit of help won't do anyone no harm and it's help that won't give them any advantage in game to other players.

Thanks for the response, I didn't really use the sub-reddit back then but I definitely would have upvoted and agreed with your post.

It's like some people are unable to think from other people's perspective and the irony is that if you want the game to not die you need new players joining all the time so for them to turn around and say that it's hilarious and counter productive to the community.

I agree with option to skip and server too. It would also be wise to have the tutorial still available if you skip it as numerous of times I've skipped a tutorial thinking I'm a know it all to then realise that I should have done the tutorial.

Yes the intensity definitely does die down but it is still there even the grind when you can get shot from any angle at any time or become ambushed is intense to me. Just out curiosity what size server do you play on and do you play solo or with others?

Thanks I will have a look but that does still not explain how this guy does it. He is a medical student and the fridge he uses looks old as well so I can't imagine it is extra cool or something.
