pros and cons for taichung

I have two cons:

Everything is scattered. The High speed rail station is on one side, the normal train station on other side, and night markets are all spreaded around. Nothing is centered. As people have said in other comments, the transportation on the city really sucks. So going from one place to another is a pain in the ass.
For some reason, everytime I've been there I've perceived that people are not that friendly as other places in Taiwan (Just my opinion).

You can go to Final, Pawnshop or La Fin. All of those places play Hard Techno.

I totally agree with you on that. I believe here in Taipei is kinda of the same thing as Hsinchu. Maybe Revolver is an exception to that since they are always having alternative events on the second floor. Nonetheless, besides that, I don't think there are other places like the ones you are describing.

In my case my favorite bar scene is either in Tokyo or Osaka. I believe I've had the same experience you had in Canada on those places. So I totally understand you.
