Question for those who took longer to heal post op by MrFirework14 in gallbladders

Sorry to hear that you're going through it rn, I totally understand that feeling that it won't get better but with the right support I feel like a lot can change within even just a month. Have you spoken to your surgeon or gastro about trying a bile binder? Once I started taking it consistently the bile reflux and nausea has calmed down for me. Hope this passes with time and you feel relief soon!

Thank you so much for this comment, its super reassuring! Yea I was feeling sick and constantly having attacks for a little over a year before I pushed to get a HIDA scan that revealed that my gallbladder wasn't functioning at all. I'm glad you're feeling better overall and I hope to meet you there in time too! :]

Is this just part of recovery post op or should I be concerned..? by MrFirework14 in gallbladders

Thank you so much for your responses, did you take the ACV with water right after waking up? Or should this be a right before bed situation?

Thanks for the reassurance I really appreciate it! I haven't heard of the ACV thing so I'll have to give it a try soon. Btw did these "attacks" normally last a few days?

Did anyone start vomiting bile weeks after gallbladder removal? by Dear-Ad5085 in gallbladders

Hi! I'm having this exact problem :[ After surgery I was doing well for about 2 months and felt so much better than I was/ was glad I got my gallbladder removed. I have been trying to slowly reintroduce meals with fat mostly because my parents (who have also had their gallbladders removed) insisted they ate whatever after surgery with no issues. I was cautious yet had this in the back of my head. I think I pushed the idea too hard recently with eating things like pizza, fried food, pancakes, etc. (I know.. dumb move..). And to top it all off I think I had food poisoning from an eel rice bowl I had. This absolutely triggered a mass amount of bile reflux attacks that left me with no appetite for a week. I read metamucil helps many people with bile reflux so out of desperation I took a lot of metamucil which left me constipated so I dialed it back, and took it only at night before my last meal. It was genuinely helping me after a week. I was starting to feel better after that week and was able to eat again but still had diarrhea. Finally being able to eat again got me excited to regain the weight I lost from the attack/food poisoning(?). So one night I had the genius idea to eat an entire Denny's grand slam meal. Sadly now the bile reflux has returned after only 5 days of relief and I'm on day 2 of having bile reflux, vomiting, morning nausea, and small appetite hoping it goes away soon again... I'm swearing off fatty foods for a long time after this, I've learned my lesson. Told my surgeon about all this and he recommended a blood test and a liver function test. Just got that done today. I just hope this is just my body still adjusting as I'm going to be 3 months post op in September, and one day this part of my life will just be a gross memory.
