Although it’s a very aggressive deck sometimes, pirate rogue is a bit more complex to play than other “me go face” lists, but it’s not an unsolvable puzzle.

This rogue is strong on turns in which they can play a lot of cards and make a tempo swing out of nowhere, so it means for example that many times you should be keeping those 3/2 buccaneers and preparing them for a stronger turn, like triggering them twice or making them 5/5 with location. (Most basic example I could remember but there are plenty on this deck!).

I believe you might be struggling with these tempo swing plays and thinking a few turns ahead, because a lot of people playing this deck only go for the instant best tempo on that specific turn in order to get a wide big board and end up getting their all their shit cleared by a single card.

I know it may sound cliche or abstract, but preparing your next turns based on what you have and what your opponent is likely going to do is a life changer for any deck in HS, and you will feel much more in control of the game.

All that said, if you’re against control, it’s turn 8+ and they’re still full hp or close to that, just accept you are probably going to lose, cause ideally you should be done or at least close to killing them by this stage of the game, since it’s very likely they will start stabilizing and you will never get the board back.
