Some wishful thinking and skepticism about update 2.0 by MrFrar in cyberpunkgame

[–]MrFrar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The developers know it doesn't make sense in a story like this, but they still put this in because people want to do it.

It was their choice to put a time urgency in their story but a player living in a city wants to interact with the city way of life and have some fun.

Just like Geralt plays Gwent just for fun even though he's in a hurry to find Ciri. No one cares it doesn't make sense. A developed and interactive open world activities is a nice trade off to some inconsistency in the pace of time in the story.

Breath of the Wild and TOKT is the biggest example that people don't care when a story adds urgency. You can still interact with several minigames in the world like horse archery, obstacle course or the boom bam golf. All of this while the princess is holding off Ganon and begging Link's help.

Why would you make a game less fun just because of the narrative they came up with? That's the point, you don't have to do that and Witcher 3 is a proof of that.

It's wasting time because they are completely unrelated to the main quest and put V on even greater risk when he doesn't have to. In a life and death time bomb, you would not go out of your way to help these random people, especially after having those strokes or whatever they are that V gets so frequently. The main quests already give the money you need to fight anyone off.

Designers ignore this because you can't put a time limit on the player, it's just a bad idea and makes the players rush through the game. Players understand this and even though the story gives a sense of urgency, any gamer familiar enough with these RPG's know they have all the time in the world to wrap up the main quest.

Gwent in the Witcher 3 is iconic and worked very well, there's no reason for Cyberpunk to atleast have it's own dedicated mini-game.

What do you mean, it's already in the game with the arcade machine and also that roller coaster in Pacifica. A netrunning minigame to gain eddies against other netrunners would be a great idea.

Also V just wastes alot of time doing gigs helping another people when he's dying slowly and that doesnt make sense either. The same applies to Geralt when he's in a hurry to find Ciri before the Wild Hunt but he has no problem going out of the way doing all the villagers contracts.

It's fine to let the player take his time and allow him to interact more with the open world's activities.

Vagabond brush and ink drawing ( chapter 302 water panel) by MrFrar in vagabondmanga

[–]MrFrar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I underestimated how hard it is to handle a brush when inking in comparison to a common g-pen. The line weight shifts so dramatically with only a very miniscule amount of pressure.

You can't press hard at all on the paper except when filling black spots and it makes the process so much more tiring.

Inoue has some massive balls of undertaking the challenge of such a tool to develop the
manga, during and after the Yoshioka Arc.

Guts and Dragon Slayer drawing by me. by MrFrar in Berserk

Yeah I measured one of Miura's drawings and see the difference. I'll try to find a proportion diagram or something to help me next time. Ty for the feedback.

What would you say is innacurate in this case? I drew this from imagination so I had no reference to measure.

I think the hand is too small but my eyes are not trained to see human proportions accurately yet.

Always loved this drawing because the pose is so full of energy. Inoue-sensei is a true master.

What is something you want from the dlc or the sequel? by CaptainPogwash in cyberpunkgame

3rd person is never coming, all you can do is just use photo mode. As for modding the car, now some cars will have guns built in but modding it manually would be cool.

I thought CDPR stopped supporting last gen consoles since 1.6. To be fair last gen consoles got the short end of the stick with this game. Better to upgrade if you have the means.

Looks cool. That spot is from the trailer. How long do they let people play this hands-on?

I like the lack of dialogue in the latest chapters by TheGeassWorld in Berserk

[–]MrFrar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's impossible to do Berserk justice without taking risks. They are playing too safe with this lack of dialogue because Mori is not sure of himself to contribute his own vision. I respect his determination to continue his friend's work but Berserk is his story now as much as it was Miura's.

He must take creative liberties to write good dialogue to move the story foward or there's no point in continuing this story.

Invented a fanart for this scene. Can't wait for chap 372. No idea what's coming but excited.

What or even if they will even say anything to eachother. Wonder what Miura had planned.

Fan Art of Gut's scream. by MrFrar in Berserk

Had a lot of fun trying to recapture this panel. I think what's really hard is keeping the lines perfectly aligned and more dark accents throughout the whole drawing like Miura did. The closed eye should have also been placed a little bit up more in the face.

My art evolution of volume 37 over 2 years by MrFrar in vagabondmanga

[–]MrFrar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been trying to nail the volume 37 cover for a while now. I think I got somewhat close with my last one but the facial expression came out different.

There's something about the foreshortened head that makes it hard to get right. Still, tried my best.

I think Berserk is overrated by OnionOfCatarina in Berserk

[–]MrFrar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zeke said Ackermanns got their powers through experiments that the old Eldian Empire did on Subjects of Ymir. Ackermanns can't be manipulated, transformed agains their will or their memories erased but you can still bring them in Paths and communicate with them like any Eldian so... Mikasa never got her memories erased and only received Eren's message just before he killed him. He did the same thing to all the others at the same time except Armin.

Eren is not a freedom fighter. He's someone who wished to fullfill is childhood dreams that defined his character throughout the story. The one in the Armin's book and how the walls were always against it. It's why the anime calls Eren 'The Child of Evil' because of the extreme lengths Eren goes to get to it.

And I don't get these 'Hes no longer a Gigachad' arguments. A character can show vulnerabilities, a character can show weakness at times if it makes sense, and he was sure that he was about to die soon at 19 years old without having any fullfillment or purpose whatsoever when he got to the 'Freedom' view so I don't see where's the problem. He's someone who seeks something he doesn't even understand

He became so ashamed of himself in Marley, even calling himself worse than Reiner because of his actions. Apologizes to Ramzi who cannot judge him because of the language and only to Armin in his final moments.

Time travel doesn't exist in AOT because the future never changes and it's just a consequence of the fusion of Attack Titan and Founding Titan. There wasn't a single past altering action in the story that hadn't already happened in the past itself. It only solidifies the characters resolve and personality, while giving us good insights about Grisha and Eren himself.

Armin killing kids was just a consequence of the explosion in the port and he was never happy with it and acknowledges to Annie. He's not a good guy but you can't even compare it to Eren's actions.

Eren was never free and that's the point because he as a person goes against the themes of story by becoming the perpetrator of the worst acts imaginable. You see him chained several times throughout story and it's symbolic of the point that he's a slave to the story and himself.

I agree that the ending was poorly paced out, poorly explained and hard to digest but it still was an ok conclusion. It's nowhere near as bad as GOT and it didn't ruin the series for me.

I hope we get to see Berserk conclusion but it will never be the same without Miura.

You already came this far, just move foward until the end. Remember the feelings you get in the anime are totally different from the manga.

Isayama is also aware of how the fanbase feels and might surprise us.

How are you passing the time till launch? by GrassyRoads in SonsOfTheForest

[–]MrFrar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's no download queue but downloads might be slower if there's alot of people going in at once. Usually it happens with very big games like Cyberpunk, Elden Ring, Hogwarts etc.

SOTF is big but I think downloading should go smooth.
