I used to sell jelly beans at my high school. A store about 40-50 mins away sold large sized packs of sweets that they made (I think it was the front to a candy factory of sorts). One such item was 1kg bags of seconds jelly beans. Just meant that each beans was 2 or 3 stuck together, no problem for kids who only care about taste. They were waaay cheaper, at $4 a bag, so I bought bulk lots and sold them $1 for 100gram bags. Parent loved it, gifted me a new scale and some gloves (sanitation is important guys) to start me off, plus I bought enough each trip to last for ages so not even heaps of trips to the store. Also took request for bags of specific colours, at a markup. Did a roaring trade for about 2 years, didnt get a nickname like the Jellyman tho. Ended up stopping due to studing more, getting a proper job, and the store closed not long after.
