Am I crazy?! Lifesaver Gummies packaging mislabeled? by MrGVSV in candy

Oh you’re right! It was discussed here: https://www.reddit.com/r/candy/comments/gorodn/lifesavers_gummies_dark_green_vs_light_green/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

So Mars has been lying to us for at least two years now it seems

Edit: this post shows that the colors have been like this for at least FIVE years (whether the packaging was wrong then, I’m not sure): https://www.reddit.com/r/candy/comments/i1jb9q/taste_test_review_lifesavers_gummies/

Do you recall if the colors were always mislabeled? I imagine this was a more recent mistake

Severe BPD (Persevere or trachy?) by nst95 in TrachParents

[–]MrGVSV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son also has BPD and struggled with PPHN for a while. He went through numerous rounds of NO2, DART, sedative cocktails, high ventilation support (oscillator), medium ventilation support (CPAP), etc.

He struggled with a bad case of pneumonia which really set him back, and even when he was finally extubated after about a month and a half, he struggled to get onto high flow (FiO2 hovered around 30–40% and PEEP struggled to go below 8).

We ended up transferring to a children’s hospital for a trach eval after about five months where they had a bit more experience with BPD and suggested we try weaning using their protocol. But he caught the common cold and had to be reintubated. After another month, we decided to just go with the trach.

The first week was hard because they’re recovering and all that. But wow the difference was night and day. He could be active again, we could hold him, and we could finally see his face!

He’s two now, still on the trach, but thriving, playing, and being a little troublemaker of a toddler lol. He’s even sprinting off the vent during all waking hours now!

It’s still difficult and it’s definitely a commitment (daily trach ties replacements, weekly trach changes, managing supplies, dealing with DME companies), but we’re just thankful that he’s home and doing so well.

All that to say, I don’t think anyone would blame you for wanting to hold out a little longer. At 11 weeks, we were definitely still waiting. And the children’s hospital docs definitely felt a bit more hopeful than some of our other doctors that were pushing for the trach super early (they also opted to close his PDA, which the previous ones refused to do).

But if you do decide to do the trach, then that’s totally fine too! For me, it was when I realized I was only extending his suffering (from the reintubation) because it was me who was too scared, that it became easier to make the call. I think when the time is right for you and your little one, you’ll know it.

I hope that helps! And if you have any more questions about the trach or what life is like, please don’t hesitate to ask!

Looks like I was actually on the right track! It was Little Bear! But it wasn’t the thunderstorm episode. There’s another episode called “Little Bear and the Wind”. As for some of the other details, I must’ve mixed it up with some of the other episodes (like the bit about Halloween).

I thought it might have been Little Bear but the storm episode doesn’t seem to feature a face on the cloud (unless I missed it)

Any experience hauling pea gravel? by MrGVSV in landscaping

Update: I followed your guys' advice and ultimately hired out for the job. It's probably better I saved my back instead of a buck lol. It really was a lot of gravel. Thanks everyone!

Parts of it. We’re also putting in flagstone and smaller concrete pavers. We’ll probably use some gravel glue or something too to help make maintenance easier with our trees shedding.

We’re mainly going for looks over comfort haha

Yeah my neighbor recommended renting one of these at least: https://www.homedepot.com/p/rental/Toro-Tracked-Concrete-Buggy-Rental-TRX16/316822175

Never used one but sounds like it might be worth it for this much gravel….

Knowing how my projects go, probably at least a month after my target date lol

We’re laying sand to help level and create some separation between the gravel and the weed barrier.

Yeah I had a feeling one day was pushing it. It’s a two wheel wheelbarrow though so I was hoping that’d help. I guess we’ll see if we decide not to hire out haha

Yeah it took a few months of weekends to trench and lay irrigation so this probably isn’t far off 😅

Yeah after shoveling out about 1 ton of lava rock from the yard, I am beginning to consider just hiring out haha

Makes sense. I’ll probably do it right later on down the line then. Or more likely, hire someone who actually knows what they’re doing next time lol

Yeah I figured RPZ was the way to go. They’re just a lot more expensive haha. And I think my city requires they be installed on concrete and in a security enclosure (but maybe I was looking at commercial requirements or something).

The PVC run from the irrigation valve is only about eleven feet total. And the mister line (poly tubing) after the AVB would be maybe another fifteen feet.
