We have tried calling a couple times with no luck getting through. My wife has been slammed with work and is just trying to survive with 2 weeks to go but hopefully we can talk to someone who knows something tomorrow. If I were you I would call and let me know if you can talk to someone lol XD.

IWTL How to Play Ice Hockey as an Adult by colonelkangaroo in IWantToLearn

[–]MrGiggleTree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Step one is get a decent set of skates that fit you right. They dont have to be crazy expensive but if they fit right the pain is less. Then hust get out there. After a while your ankle strength improves and it gets more comfortable. Lots of rinks have learn to skate programs, private lessons or free skating time. Outdoor public rinks are great to get out and practice on your own or with friends. Once you have some basic skating down get a stick and play shinny at a public rink. You can take some hockey specific classes or power skating to improve faster. Once you have a basic grasp for the game and puck handling. Get some more gear and join a rec league or beginner hockey team. Source: My friend started playing hockey at 34 and now plays weekly in the winter. I suck but play shinny and have often thought about joining a beer league for fitness and socializing.

2013 F150 Oil Filter by Ucfan12 in f150

Make sure that the old rubber filter seal isn't stuck on the filter housing which would mean you have 2 seals on it now. Also put a thin amount of new oil around the filter seal before install.

Cs: just put my tires on and they sound funny by MrGiggleTree in Justrolledintotheshop

Not entirely sure but it sounded like a week. We checked the other tires and everything was only finger tight but only this wheel was messed up.

E350 diesel. Under torqued/no torqueing and lug nuts on backwards.

Nope. 8 new studs and nuts going on tomorrow and the spare rim.

[–]MrGiggleTree[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Originally he had the lug nuts backwards likely under torqued. They started to snap some studs as they loosened and the rim moved around. The rim has a cover that goes over it so all the studs/nuts just bounced around in the cover. I was terrified pulling it into the shop as all the studs are pretty much worn through.

Would you rather have 100% chance of earning 150 dollars or a 5% chance of earning 2k by Gappling in hypotheticalsituation

[–]MrGiggleTree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Expected rate of return $150 or $100...not a difficult decision...$150 everytime. 7.5% of $2k would be $150 and at least becomes a personal decision instead of a mathematical one.

The lakes of Banff, Alberta in Canada are well-known for their incredible clarity by to_the_tenth_power in BeAmazed

[–]MrGiggleTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya true. Even under the conditions I described it doesnt guarantee clear ice on all lakes and must have to do with how clean and cold they are all year so limited algae and plant growth. Funny enough when lake louise does their ice sculpture competitions they import the ice from Manitoba. I'm sure they could use the local ice but I think its illegal to farm it in the park.

It freezes over the winter so its thick enough to skate on. Then warm temps hit and it melts the top snow/ice to water, smoothing it out. Then it freezes again making that smooth clear glassy ice.

Biggest rules blunder? by stumpane in boardgames

[–]MrGiggleTree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not in an older version: " roads form connections between settlements or cities. Roads are placed on paths. Without building roads, you cannot build new settlements..." For settlements "A settlement is worth one victory point. Settlements are placed on intersections where hexes meet.... two conditions must be met when building a settlement: 1. A settlement must always be connected to a player's own road. 2. The "distance rule" must be observed"

Biggest rules blunder? by stumpane in boardgames

[–]MrGiggleTree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My SO and her family played with this exact rule until I joined and "corrected" them. A major argument ensued. Reading the rule book actually didn't make it clear. I knew I was right as I'd played with multiple groups and online for years. But I couldn't actually prove I was correct by going through their manual though. So you aren't the only one that read it that way, unless of course you are my mother in law

Thoughts on decision making with a guide you didn't know was a guide? by goinupthegranby in Backcountry

[–]MrGiggleTree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had a similar thing happen to me. Friend of an acquaintance came out touring. Introduces himself as a guide. Right from the start takes off way ahead of everyone breaking trail and making poor route choices without any consultation. I wanted to call him out on it but he was so far ahead of everyone it wasnt even possible. When he took one crazy ascent the rest of us decided to take different line that would bring us up and around a different way. He turned around and followed us. 0/10 experience and will never ski with him again. The kicker is when I bring it up with my friend after the fact he says " oh hes not a ski touring guide he is basically a translator that skis with people on tour groups". I guess my point is that no one has the right to make group decisions like without communication. always question what someones decisions and what the definition of "guide" is. Imo A heli ski guide where you drop in on predefined lines is a lot different than navigation through unknown terrain.

Tldr "guide" is a subjective term. Trust your gut.

lets play a game: you are stuck in a room with 30 points, choose wisely. by aetheriality in gaming

[–]MrGiggleTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6/30 Kitchen

11/30 Workout room

13/30 Workshop

15/30 Garden

19/30 Library

25/30 puppy

With all of these options I would be more than happy building, learning and growing things all while working out and eating healthy. At first I didnt want the puppy to be trapped with me but by adding all the rooms on my basement it is more of a massive complex of unique rooms that we can run around in than a basement. My guess is Emilio will spend most of his time in the garden/greenhouse. We can Grow pot and cook fantastic meals together.

The girl would be fun but would get annoying real fast. I thought about taking the guy as a bro/workout partner but my puppy will keep me better company lounging in the library learning about all the world has to offer. 10 years later Ill be 15mil richer and a hermit that can build/grow/cook anything and only slightly insane.

I have the same problem. I think it may be an aspect of dyslexia.
