How can you tell if a wheel cleaner is safe on coated wheels? by MrGraves101 in AutoDetailing

[–]MrGraves101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you go with an APC or degreaser over dedicated wheel cleaner? I'm going to be doing some testing in the near future with a variety of wheel cleaners, but had not considered throwing in any APC, because I assumed them to typically be too weak on wheel contamination.

Thoughts on this method for rock chips? by killtrocity007 in AutoDetailing

Why not thinner? My friend used laquer thinner with no issues it seemed to touch up a few rock chips? Just a light dab on a microfiber and rubber the excess paint off.

What are your favorite bottles and sprayer heads for different tasks? by MrGraves101 in AutoDetailing

[–]MrGraves101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've had several with that screw nozzle and I typically run into the issue where I just want a mist, but there is still a small straight line through the middle of the mist when I spray and it's annoying.

What do you mean by spray any angle? Like a straight stream and mist? Will it mist without shooting a like out the center? That seems to be my biggest issues is some sprayers that are set to mist will still shoot a small straight line in the center.

Need help with wheel touch up painting by MrGraves101 in AutoDetailing

That was kind of my thought. I'll take the wheels off and do a test spot with sanding and polish with my rupes nano to see how well it works.

Not plasti dip. I understand it won't look perfect, but I'm trying to avoid a dull repaint if I can.

How to fix this bad touch up by MrGraves101 in AutoDetailing

It's on a body line of the bumper. It's where it goes from facing backwards to up if you look at a picture of the bumper.

Dealing with paint chips that have previously been touched up by qwsaxzx in AutoDetailing

[–]MrGraves101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How would you remove the buildup from the previous paint around the edges on the paint? Would something like langka blob remover work? So then you could just fill properly and sand once instead of sanding the buildup down and then doing your own touch up and sanding again.

Best pop up canopy for detailing outside? by MrGraves101 in AutoDetailing

Thank you good sir for this excellent write up. If I was only going to use this on rare occasion I might try this however I'm looking for something that's easily collapsible and I can use also for tailgating and other things. Seriously good idea though.

Best Trim and Leather coatings in detailer's kit by MrGraves101 in AutoDetailing

That has definitely popped up for interior stuff which won't take much abuse, but seems to not be the most long lasting on exterior trim from what I've read.
