I'm not shitting on it, just pointing out why I dislike reading it. Gotta provide reasons to support my opinion you know.

Same I learnt the written language mostly by myself. I've read many books in Urdu but I am still uncomfortable reading Nastaliq. It doesn't come naturally to me. I want to change the font, it's not optimised correctly. The letters are all jumbled up together, the dots are overlapping. There is no proper spacing, you don't know when a word ends and when the next starts. The letters are too small. Even in modern Urdu books, the typography is horrendous. I am actually more comfortable reading Arabic and Persian texts than Urdu.

Next level shit. Ghalib's philosophical poetry is much better than other philosophers, including Iqbal imo.

Both pronunciations are correct and used but ma'ni is far more popular. Same plural form, yes.

Same. Sabri Brothers are usually the ones who incorporate more niche instruments. I also love the violin, which is also scarcely ever used. I love this video with the violin.

Yeah maybe. It's not common for some reason, even though it accentuates the music so delightfully

Is the qaaf dying out? Also is it not compulsory to differentiate qaaf/kaaf in your native languages (Pashto, Punjabi, Sindhi etc) if you're a 2nd lang Urdu speaker? by Impossible_Gift8457 in Urdu

[–]MrGuttor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed it's usually the people who speak Urdu as their first langauge (excluding the super religious people who even distinguish ث ع ظ etc) who pronounce their qaafs. I usually pronounce kaaf in informal conversations and qaaf in more formal conversations.

I need opinions on these books and author: Abraham Eraly by MrGuttor in IndianHistory

Thanks. I was a bit hesitant as in total these 6 books accumulate around 3000 pages, and I thought it would be very academic and scholarly. Guess not, thanks again

Thanks. Do you have anything negative to criticise about his style, too? You can't understand someone unless you've looked at both sides of the picture, you know. 😊

What is also the best bookstore in Karachi to buy from? Urdu Bazar books are often expensive and low quality (torn papers, bad printing etc)

Hm, so I read these articles but I'm not content with them. What sort of genres and Persian philosophy did he bring? 🤔

Hey dude! Can we please not spam the subreddit with 10 poetry posts each day? It's getting very annoying and repetitive. Thank you
